J. Taylor dancing to Skins?

Don't be stunned if Dolphins ace defensive end Jason Taylor, on the outs with the new regime in Miami, winds up with the Redskins. Taylor will be 34 in September, but he had 11 sacks last season. His 46 sacks the past four years lead the league.

Taylor is still very much in shape as he showed on "Dancing With The Stars." He has played his entire 11-year career in Miami, but the Dolphins haven't made the playoffs since 2002 and Bill Parcells and Co. are clearly rebuilding a team that was the NFL's worst last season. The Redskins, while not a powerhouse by any means, did reach the playoffs two of the past three years.

What's more, Taylor's agent is Gary Wichard, who is very tight with Redskins front office boss Vinny Cerrato. A Redskins source said that acquiring Taylor to boost the laggard pass rush wasn't out of the question but that there have been no talks so far either internally or with the Dolphins.

Taylor has two years left on his contract, which is worth $16.5 million. Miami could absorb the cap hit incurred by trading Taylor and Redskins owner Dan Snyder's trademark has been to shower newly-acquired players with bonuses.

Should have also noted that the Dolphins tried to get the skins 1st round pick for jason taylor, but we said we weren't interested.

2 2nd day late draft picks is all I'd give them

a 5th or 6th in 2009

and conditional one in 2010 based on performance that could become a 3rd if he has 2 straight seasons of 10+ sacks. otherwise it's 2 6th round picks.

he's old, nothing beyond that would be worth it.

Though I think the real question is: does Jason Taylor still want to play football? The last thing we need is another past-his-prime primadonna who's here for the money and nothing else.

Down here, it is common knowledge that JT wants to play ball! No doubt about it! Go Skins!!!

Do what the coach wants to do. He is the guy that has to put up with Taylor.

Are you suggesting the Fish would take a $16.5 mill cap hit to offload this guy? Maybe for a first rounder but otherwise that would be crazy. They'd be better off just to cut him, assuming what he is owed is non-guaranteed money. That way, no cap hit.

For the Skins, picking up Taylor would not be the worst idea in the world, but only if they can wait for the Dolphins to cut him and then sign him to an incentive-laden contract.

JT would rock the world in DC. He still is a football player. Don't let his Hollywood experience fool you. They've always said that he was too small to play d end anyway remember?

JT would give the pass rush a much needed boost,as long as you don't give up the world why not? A one year deal and then go from there. As far as Randel El vs. the bear, I'll take Randel El Antwan knows where he is going and bear can't manuver like A.R. EL can.

ARE needs to work on getting away from human tacklers before he takes on bears. He hasn't exactly been Devin Hester for us.

i would give a 2nd and a 5th round pick . redskins can get 3 good years out of him.

He would be a welcome edition; but I would not mortgage the future for him. I would'nt give up anything higher than a third round pick for him.
