Davis apologizes

Rookie tight end Fred Davis, who missed the final day of minicamp 16 days ago when he overslept, apologized to the organization, his teammates and coaches and Redskins fans a few minutes ago at a press conference.

Davis said that after switching rooms the previous night to get his own room, he awoke the next morning and practice had already begun. He reached front office boss Vinny Cerrato and then came in later that day to meet with coach Jim Zorn.

Davis, a second-round pick in last month's draft out of USC, returned to Washington on Monday to begin offseason conditioning. He and the rest of the players aren't due back on the field for OTAs until June 2.

The article in the WT, not this short blog, provided a lot of quotes from Davis. When camp starts, whether he is ligitimate pick with good work habits - or not, will quickly be determined.

I hope he does have great work habits and his skills prove him to be a quality TE for the Redskins.

Down here, it is patently obvious that The Fish want to cut ties with Jason Taylor (Defensive End). The Danny and The Vinny missed the opportunity with THE 21ST PICK IN THE 08 DRAFT TO TAKE PHILIP MERLING(DEFENSIVE END) OF CLEMSON BY TRADING DOWN. Instead, The Fish/The Tuna took him. When you look at Taylor, who is 34 and in tremendous shape, he can certainly give The Skins a couple of good years at DE before he goes of to Hollywood for his next career. Come on Danny/Vinny, we have no bonafide pass rusher. Make the move and give up what is necessary to get Taylor before you are beaten to the punch once again. GO SKINS!!!!!!!!

Yea, Fred Davis doesn't look like he cares to much. There is a video clip on comcastsportsnet that you should check out to get a real feel for this guy.
