Cincinnati coach Marvin Lewis has retracted his earlier denial of the ESPN report that Washington had offered two draft choices for disgruntled receiver Chad Johnson.
Lewis told ESPN that the Bengals rejected the Redskins' offer of their first-round pick, 21st overall, and a conditional third-rounder in 2009 for Johnson, who has threatened to hold out all year. The 2009 selection could wind up as high as a first-rounder depending on how well Johnson played.
Upon hearing that Lewis, Washington's defensive coordinator in 2002, had spilled the beans, the highly-placed Redskins source changed his denial and also confirmed ESPN's report.

OK, this is the Redskins team we know and love. Overpay for a guy the Bengals will be begging someone to take in a couple of months. If they are so willing to pay up for this guy, why didn't they go after TO, who is far better? I am not opposed to getting Johnson, but I don't know that they can afford even the number 21 for him, much less possibly two number ones. Who would have more impact, Johnson or Allen? I say Allen. He's younger and his production is not dependent on an erratic and unproven QB.

Here we go again!!!!!!
Vinny helped cripple a successful franchise in San Fran. And he's working his magic with Dano here.
The GM duo, now that St. Joe is back home, laughing all the way to the bank, is more inept than ever!
They are afraid to select talent in the draft because they are so poor at it.
Now, we hear they are trying to give Cinncy - essentially- the whole draft for a over-lauded, bigmouth troublemaker in Chad Johnson. Spelled CHAD CANCER!
If I were Marvin Lewis, I'd take Vinny and the midget-owner/GM for every pick they have this year and next! The Snydermen are certainly willing to give it away!
Hey, maybe they can give away whatever picks are leftover from this & next year, and get Brandon LLoyd again??? There's an idea boys.
The Snydermen are the true laughingstock of the NFL.

I fear that this deal for "The Johnson" is not dead. We still have a few days before draft day. I expect that both "The Danny's" and "The Village Idiot's" heads will collectively explode before draft day and they will give the Bengals whatever they want for "The Johnson". Just standing by for the next franchise implosion.
