Guess who Gus Frerotte's position coach was in 1999 in Detroit, his first year after leaving the Redskins? ... Wait for it. ... None other than Jim Zorn.
Frerotte completed a career-high 60.8 percent of his 288 passes for 2,117 yards, nine touchdowns and seven interceptions while starting six games. He started a seventh game, the wild-card playoff loss to the Redskins in Washington. Frerotte moved on to Denver the next year. Detroit hasn't been to postseason since.

David,
What do you think happens with Derek Anderson in Cleveland? I'm not suggesting the Redskins make a run at him, but he has an interesting situation. He's a restricted free agent, and any team that signed him would owe the Browns a first and third. I suspect the Browns wouldn't mind someone taking him off their hands , so they could get back the picks they wasted on Brady Quinn. Fans will never forgive them if Anderson goes elsewhere, say Bears or Vikes, and becomes a perennial Pro Bowler and Brady bombs.

Get out the Gus Bus....My old 11 Jersey will be wearable again.
Actually, Gus would be a good fit if Mark's contract doesn't get renewed. A Vet with some WCO experience and Burgundy & Gold FedEx Field experience.

gus frerotte would be better with the Giants as back up. His Austrian heritage makes him a great leader.
