The Redskins should send a message now: cut Brandon Lloyd.
The malcontent receiver has been as big a bust as now-departed safety Adam Archuleta was and on top of that, he threw his helmet during a game last year. Lloyd admitted that this offseason was the first one during which he ever really worked out, and the result has been that he has missed half of training camp with shin splints.
The Redskins have plenty of cap room. Even if they give tight end Chris Cooley a big contract, they have the cap room. Lloyd might be a gifted athlete, but he's not a standup guy in the locker room. Corey Bradford, Jason McAddley, Mike Espy or any of the other backup receivers can score zero touchdowns as well as Lloyd and for a heck of a lot less money and aggravation.
Cut Brandon Lloyd now.

Agreed. He does not seem to fit well at all. Everyone in the organization knows his '06 performance was bad, and if JC saw real improvement in Lloyd and some chemistry building between the two than he would say so.

Agreed. And I'm sure the aforementioned backups will strengthen the 53-man roster, by doing things that Lloyd wouldn't, like go across the middle and play on special teams.

Is this a rip the skins section or do you ever take the optimistic side? It seems to me that you are always taking a negative tone as if you are hoping that the redskins fail. Try giving a positive spin once in a while, even during hard times. Then you won't look like one of the many bandwagon media folk when they are succeeding and you are trying to spread the praise. Why does it seem that the Washington media is actually against the team? I would much rather go to see the skins lose each week than continue to read this negativity each day! Change the tone or as you say ... "send the guy packing."

You are being a little imaptient regarding Brandon LLoyd, now don't get me wrong he is immmature but I think Gibbs put him in his place and we should see results if we don't then I agree he needs to be cut.
Since Gibbs has been back and since Gary Clark left that receiver whether on that side has been nonexistant..Do you remember David Patten and I don't know who was on that side before him

I dont particularly like Brandon Lloyd from the issues he's had off the field, and his play last year was poor. But I think its worth at this point in the season giving him a chance this year. If he sucks this year then they should can him.

WHY IS THAT YOU GUYS @ THE WASHINGTON TIMES SEEM TO TAKE SUCH GREAT JOY IN REPORTING THE NEGATIVE STORIES,TRUE OR IMAGINED WHEN IT COMES TO THE WASHINGTON REDSKINS? FIRST IT`S ABOUT THE CAP ROOM OR LACK THERE OF, THEN THE INJURY SITUATION IS ALWAYS MUCH WORSE THAN THE TEAM IS WILLING TO ADMIT, NOW CUT A GUY AFTER ONE YEAR TO SEND A MESSAGE. IT`S SEEMS OBVIOUS TO ME THAT NOT ONLY ARE YOU PEOPLE NOT FANS AND HAVE VERY LITTLE FIRST HAND ATHLETIC KNOWLEDGE BUT YOU MIGHT ACTUALLY BE DALLAS COWBOY SUPPORTERS !

The two seasons prior to signing with the Skins he averaged 45 receptions. Yes, last year he had only 23.
Bottom line give him this year to produce or send him packing.
I don't think he's ripping the team...just being honest. Let's be honest, the last ten years have been filled with more than enough free ageants who came, stank, and stole (money).

Hip Hip and Hail to Dave and all the Times columninsts that DARE say their opinions on the Redskins.
If it were up to the Lil-Dano PR Dept. and sites, we'd all be led to believe the team has been a winner these past 8-plus years under Dano's dictatorship and GMing. 'Last time I checked the record, they have been a miserable failure at all except fleecing the young-fans who will pay anything for their entertainment.
Thanks, Dave!

The Washington Times should send a message now: cut David Elfin and Ryan O'Halloran!
The malcontent sport writers have spewed their Redskins Hatred and football ignorance for too long. Elfin and O'Halloran are more disliked in the D.C. area than Michael Irvin! Cut them now! Then they can go be Redskin haters or just Home-Team Haters in Philly or New York! Plenty of work there.
Then you can hire a elementary school student because even they could write Zero-info Redskin-Hater articles like Elfin and O'Halloran for a heck of a lot less money and aggravation.
Cut David Elfin and Ryan O'Halloran now!

This is coming from a San Francisco 49er fan who had to endure watching Brandon Lloyd for 3 years. Let me tell Redskins fans that Lloyd is probably the WORST receiver I've ever seen. EVER.
Even though he made some good catches with the Niners, the few catches he did make never really helped the team. He also was never good in the clutch when it really mattered.
Also, his emotional displays after catching a ball in SF are legendary. He especially likes to do the 1st down pose. We in SF were so thrilled to see his act go.
I check the internet daily to look at what's going on with this guy because he doesn't belong in the league, let alone be a starter on a decent NFL team.
I guarantee one thing: If the Skins release the horrible Brandon Lloyd, he will not be picked up by anyone else.
Alex Smith said he was the worst teammate he had ever had, and Alex has never said a negative word about anybody else, which really says something.
GET THIS GUY OUT OF THE LEAGUE AND RELEGATE HIM TO THE HIP HOP HEAP.

Taylor has a home in the Miami suburb of Palmetto Bay that he bought two years ago. The 24-year-old player is in HjJrFiZwfKpezK his fourth season with the Redskins after playing at the University of Miami, where he was an All-American in 2003
