Any reason why Taylor Whitley makes the roster over Will Whittaker? Whittaker filled Randy Thomas' ORG spot during OTAs, and is a possibility at OLG if Wade doesn't pan out. Coach Buges raved about Will's skills, too.

Ryan,
I pretty much agree with everything you have there. The only thing I beleive will happen is that the skins hold on to Ade Jimoh b/c they absolutely love his special teams play, in which case he would probably beat out Butler or maybe even Doughty.

Keep up the good work!
Chris

I think Vernon Fox will make the team.

I assume this is oversight rather than intention, but what about 5th round pick Dallas Sartz? Surely, he will make the team and finally push out Khary Campbell (or perhaps Ryan Boschetti if they like the Campbell's special teams play).

You did a great job! However I gotta think that that the Starz kid from USC is gonna make it. Don't you think he has a shot as a linebacker as well as a situational pass rusher.

The Skins have needed a GM for years. I hope before he leaves Joe convinces Dan Snyder to hire a competent G.M. In our glory days that was the ticket that worked (Beathard and later Casserly as General Manager)and Joe Gibbs doing what he does BEST, COACHING). If Mr.Snyder likes Vinny Cerrato so much, let him run Six Flags, and replace him with a General Manager. What does he bring to the table?.Once again, they ignored the DL.,which will catch up with them. They have needed a pure Pass- Rusher for years. They might get lucky and acquire some of the Broncos DL's (they have too many)that might get released(maybe Kenard Lang or Carlos Hall). Alex Brown might be avaiable (for a creative package) and Warren Sapp might also become avaiable( I know Sapp is getting up there, but he would be an upgrade). He would definetly plug up the middle on the run. At least they have only traded their 4th round pick next year( maybe they are learning their lesson and holding on to their draft picks). Even though I do not agree with most of their personnel moves and strategy for upgrading the team, I will root for them all the way. HAIL TO THE REDSKINS,forever.

Thanks for all your comments. Here are some of my responses.

JMa: Taylor Whitley over Will Whittaker -- that decision was basically a guess. I think they're fighting for the same roster spot and I gave Whitley the spot because he was here late last season. But I could very well see Whittaker making the team.

Rim: You make a good point on CB Ade Jimoh. Special teams is why he has made the roster every year of his career. But the bottom line is that he was a turnstile playing corner late last season. I think Butler makes it over him because he, too, can play special teams. I think Reed Doughty is competing with Vernon Fox.

Todd: Vernon Fox could make the team if the Redskins choose a veteran reserve safety over a second-year reserve safety (Doughty). But with Stoutmire and Prioleau locks to make the team, I think the Redskins will keep Doughty around to develop some youth, much like I think they will keep Bramlet over Todd Collins.

Jim: No oversight. I've believed since the draft that Dallas Sartz and H.B. Blades are competing for one roster spot. One makes the team, one goes to the practice squad. I think Khary Campbell is too valuable on special teams to cut. But Sartz and Blades could both make the team if they choose to keep seven linebackers instead of six. That would mean trouble for a guy like Boschetti.

E. Stone: There's a lot of Dallas Sartz fans out there. I envision them using Marcus Washington as a pass-rusher on third down; if Sartz makes the team, it's because he shows flashes fundamentally and plays well on special teams.

Robert: Your line about having Vinny run Six Flags was hilarious. Responding to a couple of your points -- Alex Brown is a good player but he would cost some draft picks (which I think Joe wants to hold onto) and a new contract. Warren Sapp could be a possibility but I don't think he's good enough to start in front of Kedric Golston. I agree on the draft picks -- it's good that they still have six picks (rounds 1,2,3,5,6,7).
