Yesterday LeBron James' take on DeShawn Stevenson's flagrant foul on him was "I guess that's what they want to do this year: hurt LeBron James."
Today after practice, Brendan Haywood cracked everybody up with a response. Putting on a sorrowful expression and speaking in a high pitched, whining tone, Haywood said: "Ooooh, they're trying to hurt me!"
Going back to his natural voice he added:
"He wears 23, he wants to be Michael Jordan. I can respect that, he's a great player. But you saw what Mike when through. Mike got fouled way worse than this. No one's trying to hurt him. Everyone's trying to play basketball and trying to be tough. Play basketball and leave it alone. He's trying to hurt me! [whining tone again] C'mon.
"I don't remember anyone saying blatantly 'they're trying to hurt me' before. But the game has changed a lot. You definitely couldn't say that back in the day. The nature of the game has changed from the Bad Boys with the Pistons, the Knicks. You said that and you would've been seen as plain out soft. I never heard Magic say it, or Mike, or Larry."
Oh, and Jay-Z's DeShawn Stevenson diss has made it to YouTube. It's called "Blow the whistle." There's no mention of Stevenson's name, but it's rather clear what he's responding to.
Yeah, right, LeBron. There is no DeShawn-LeBron rivalry? Maybe not on the court as one-on-one matchup. But there's definitely something personal there.

Classless Wiz will be sent packing tonight. That way, DeShawn can get rested up before middle school lets out and his dating pool becomes available.

Yeah okay Jason B...first everybody critizes the Wiz for being soft all these years, then b/c they lay some hard fouls, now they're "trying to hurt someone." I agree with Brendan, stop crying!! They may have been foolish to challenge Lebraon, but without help from the refs and the NBA in general, they wouldn't have beaten us three years ago and sure enough would have had more turn-overs due to traveling this year..catch a clue. Hater!!

Its amazing that the Wizards continue to talk trash even as they continue to show they cannot win against Cleveland and LeBron in games and series that really count. Haywood's idiotic comments have only solidified their reputation as the biggest national joke of the NBA playoffs.

When you're down three games to one,the focus should be on the next game, not what LeTravel is or isn't saying I have been Bullets/Wiz fan for almost forty years all this talk is idiotic, focus on rebounding(HELLO!!!) cutting off LeBron's path to the hoop and for goodness sake defend the three!!!!.We have to win wedensday or all this talk is just that; talk.

Just like your town... a bunch of thugs. To bad you can't rise up to play a game of basketball. You all need to stop the crying about being bounced out of the playoffs yet again. I'm not sure what you team was trying to do and more than that most of Washington thinks the NBA was out to screw them... wow how delirious is that? King James not only beat the tar out of you, you all looked and sounded so stupid at the same time, maybe the Wizards can take the extra time the Cav's provided them to work on there basketball skills for NEXT YEAR! Who's whinning now you bunch of crybabies... :-)

Its over. The wizards called out the cavs and got their butts kicked. With all the excuses, there is no mention that Lebron had more assists last nite than the entire wizards team. No mention that he proved to be more valuable than the wizards "big three" combined. A winning
culture requires accountability and the wizards just don't have it.

The only magic trick the Wizards have shown anyone is how to make the playoffs and still be on the golf course by the first week of May. The entire nation just laughs at your idiotic fans when they chant 'overrated' at a player that could have won the MVP this year and sends your team packing for the third year in a row. Save the trash talking for when you actually win something, you all just sound ridiculous.

I do not care what NBA team you are a fan of. There is not one Wizard fan that can stand in front of me and say they would agree with any of their player's taking the shots that they were dishing out to LaBron James. Because he did not retaliate which Wizard players wanted him to do he is a crybaby. Give me a break. The only crybabies are the Wizard fans. How would Wizard fans like it if Gilbert Arena was taking thas cheap shots. They would be screaming bloody murder and not one fan can say different. They were the dirtiest team I have ever seen in the playoff's and the NBA front office choked on not serving more suspensions. LaBron got the last say and it was a class act.
