After Queen Anne's County State's Attorney Frank M. Kratovil Jr. won the Democratic primary in Maryland's 1st Congressional District he packed up his family and drove to the only place to go after winning: Disney World.
Kratovil, who now faces state Sen. Andrew P. Harris, a Republican, drove to Orlando, Fla., with his wife and four boys. They also visited Universal Studios, he said yesterday.
Disney started the now-cliched ad campaign with Super Bowl MVPs spouting the phrase "I'm going to Disney World!" back in 1987.
No word yet on whether Harris also took his family.

Neither candidate should be rushing off to celebrate. Just because the incumbent Gilchrest was knocked out doesn't mean an easy ride for Kratovil. 1st district has definitely gone conservative in recent history, but without Gilchrest and some categorizing the district as moderate, who knows....
But then again, why not take a trip to Disney World!

hi Stokes,
Thanks for commenting. I doubt that either candidate thinks they have this race in the bag just yet. Nine months is a long time in any political race (look how far Hillary Clinton has fallen in just under two months!)
You're definitely right about Maryland's First Congressional District, it's hardly as Eastern-Shore-centric as it used to be before the 2002 redistricting. That's something the Andy Harris campaign appeared to use to its benefit.

Such a nice young man to take his family to Disneyland. Unlike that evil Andy Harris who probably makes his kids work in coal mines all day to heat their house.
