Pre-game update

Bruce Boudreau didn't change his stance on defenseman Jeff Schultz. He will take the warmup skate and then they will decide if he is in the lineup. There are no other lineup changes to report.

One thing I've noticed when watching other playoffs games is how much announcers talk about coaches trying to match lines. It is something we really haven't talked to Boudreau about much so I decided to bring it up today, because either we weren't asking him about it enough or he just doesn't do it.

"It could be a combination of both," Boudreau said. "We feel that all four lines are responsible and all four lines can play against anybody. There are times that we want specific matchups. You look at the Steckel-Bradley-Brashear line, it is big and strong and some of our best defensive players are on it. The next line, you've got Laich and Gordon, who might be the most defensively responsible guy on our team. And then we [Matt] Cooke, who has been a defensive specialist, and you have Alex's line and you hope they outscore the opposition when they're on the ice.

"We do match, if you noticed we did in the last 10 minutes of [Game 1], but for the most part we get everybody involved and we tell them they have to play against the other team's best line sometimes whether we are home or away."

So there you go if you, like me, were wondering.

As for a Flyers update, defenseman Randy Jones will be in the lineup in place of Ryan Parent. Patrick Thoresen will not play after taking a Mike Green shot in the groin in Game 1.
