'Mo' a go for Game 1?

Shaone Morrisonn just walked past the media room after practice and said he hopes to be ready for Game 1 on Friday. He said he might start practicing as early as Wednesday. No word from anyone on Jeff Schultz, but he was in the building today.

Bruce Boudreau said the team didn't call anyone up from Hershey because it wasn't going to be a real practice, so either Lepisto or Boumedienne could be here tomorrow. He was slated to be part of the festivities tonight at Nationals Park but had to cancel so he can attend his son Brady's tryouts at the same time. Mike Green will throw out the first pitch tonight and Cristobal Huet will announce the lineup card.

As for all of the extra attention Boudreau has recieved, he said it has been a bit much.

"Way too much exposure for a guy that looks like me," Boudreau said. "I just want to quietly sit in the back, and I'd really like to pass that on to guys like Brooks Laich who got 21 goals this year and all of those guys who have done great jobs this year."

Also, I've been railing against the fact that Chicago's Dustin Byfuglien was listed as a defenseman by the NHL even though he's been playing forward for several months now (nothing against the guy -- he is actually one of my favorite young players in the league). The NHL has officially switched his position, so Mike Green is the official leader in goals by a defenseman this season with 18.

"It was one of my goals at the beginning of the season, and anytime you accomplish one of your goals it is a great feeling," Green said.
