Surgery for Nylander, Clark out

The Caps will be without Chris Clark tonight and Michael Nylander for "a long time." Bruce Boudreau said Nylander is going to have shoulder surgery tomorrow. He has been playing through the pain and taking days off to rest.

"He did a courageous job of trying to come back, but sometimes he didn't have the strength in his arm to play like Michael Nylander," Boudreau said. "It is very, very sore so he is going to get it fixed."

Clark is still dealing with a groin injury that will keep him out for the 19th time in 20 games.

Also, Brent Johnson will be in net against the Senators.

Here are the four lines for the game:

Ovechkin - Backstrom - Kozlov

Fleischmann - Gordon - Semin

Laing - Steckel - Bradley

Brashear - Laich - Pettinger

-- Corey Masisak

UPDATE:

Through a team spokesman, GM George McPhee said rotator cuff surgery will keep Michael Nylander out for three to six months. Also, Nicklas Backstrom has been named to the Eastern Conference team for the YoungStars game during the All-Star Weekend.
