Hagan to battle Dole

North Carolina state senator Kay Hagan defeated her four Democratic rivals to secure her party's nod during today's primary elections.

Hagan will face Sen. Elizabeth Dole, North Carolina Republican, who has outraised her newly named Democratic opponent thus far by a nearly 9-to-1 margin.

Sen. Charles Schumer, New York Democrat, chairman of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC), which oversees campaigns for Democratic senators, touted Hagan's prospects tonight.

"North Carolina Democrats chose a nominee for Senate today who will make the state proud," Schumer said in a statement. "Kay is smart, energetic and dedicated to making people's lives better, and as voters get to know her better over the next six months they will see that she can bring the change to Washington that the country needs."

The DSCC pointed out that registered Democrats outnumber Republicans, according to figures from the North Carolina State Board of Elections. There are 2.6 million registered Democrats in North Carolina, compared to over 1.9 million registered Republicans.

Everyone is touting "change". What does it mean? First tell us what is going to change and then how and then let us decide. Change without direction is like experience without accountability, it just doesn't mean anything. Things change while you breath.

Change = Hope instead of Fear

Change = Science instead of Myths

Change = Tolerance instead of Intolerance

Change = Peace instead of War

Change = Accountability & Rule of Law

Change = Constitution instead of Patriot Act

Change = Privacy instead of Spying

Change = Democracy instead of Monarchy

Change = Truth instead of Lies

Mrs Dole, wow the GOP should have run her as a Presdential Candiate, I mean heck she is even taller than McShame.

Just words....that's all they seem to be "empty words". I know they count...G** D*** America...they do count!! Change is the new word for the election year. The joke is that anyone will be a "change". Senator Obama comes up with "Change" but he NEVER says how he will change anything!

Hope instead Fear: Fear of what? Global Warming, starvation? Check the U.N. for the next crisis.
Science instead of Myths: Consensus science? Carbon Credits, snake oil.
Tolerance instead of intolerance: Tolerance of misspeaks?
Peace instead of War: Where? Behind a Maginot Line of Homeland Defense? Hello Fortress America.
Accountability & Rule of Law: Are we getting rid of congressional "blame" politics, good? Now maybe Congress will do something.
Constitution instead of Patriot Act: The Patriot has not been declared unconstitutional. Huh?
Privacy instead of spying: I guess Newt Gingrich might agree with you there.
Democracy instead of Monarchy: As of today, the Congress has not been disbanded and the Supreme Court is still making rulings.
Truth instead of lies: "It depends on what the definition of the word 'is' is".

Now the question is how is the next President, Republican or Democrat, is going to implement change?
