House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Howard Berman, California Democrat, wanted to avoid a spectacle like yesterday's kerfluffle in the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
"We have no objection to audience members wearing T-shirts and hats expressing their views," Berman said. "But to maintain order in the hearing room, we request that audience members do not hold up or wave signs, make gestures to attract attention, stand up in protest, shout or yell your views, or otherwise disrupt the hearing. We'll ask the Capitol Police to remove anyone from the room who violates this policy."
Berman noted that anyone who gets ejected will also get arrested.
Griff Jenkins from Fox News captured some of the exchange between protesters and cops yesterday after Senate Foreign Relations Chairman Joe Biden, Delaware Democrat, had some of the anti-war commenters removed. You can watch the video here.
