I'm here live-blogging the Senate Foreign Relations hearing with testimony from Army Gen. David H. Petraeus and Ambassador to Iraq Ryan C. Crocker in the Senate Hart Building. Things just got under way, and just before the hearing began there were several protesters who yelled to Sen. Barack Obama, Illinois Democrat.
"Get us out of Iraq, senator!" they yelled, "And keep us out of Iran!"
The protesters appeared to be a few women with white makeup on their faces dressed in long, black burqa -like dresses carrying baby dolls and wearing signs around their necks.
Chairman Joe Biden, Delaware Democrat, hushed them.
"Anyone who speaks up, whether it's praiseworthy or not," Biden admonished "I will ask the Capitol Hill police to have them removed."
Update: Biden just temporarily paused the hearing to get a half dozen or so protestors removed. They were cheering Sen. Barbara Boxer, California Democrat, who is questioning the witnesses about why Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was favorably greeted during his recent visit to Iraq.
"Can you please cool it back there?" Boxer asked the protestors.
