Detroit mayor Kwame Kilpatrick, under increasing pressure to resign, invoked the n-word in his defense against public outrage over his recent sex scandal.
And Jeremiah Wright, pastor of presidential candidate Barack Obama, used the n-word during a sermon denouncing Obama's opponent, Hillary Clinton.
Looks like the NAACP's ceremonial burial of the n-word last July didn't take.

There's a lot of those types of words floating around. Jane Fonda's "C" word, the "F" word, and the "N" word. Movies are the only place you can say them without repercussions. I guess Hollywood has assumed the roll of social morality administrator?

The reason the "n-word" is so hard to kill is that it serves a purpose, just like the words "redneck," "cracker" and "hillbilly." For most people these days, the word indicates a member of a debased subculture, just as, say, "cracker" does. My suggestion: Junk the "n-word" and substitute "black trash." If "white trash" is acceptable, "black trash" should be acceptable, too.

It is interesting that Obama can brush off the many bigoted and hateful comments that Jeremiah Wright has made by saying that, while he attends Wright's church, he doesn't agree with everything Wright says. Is that so? Hmmmm, well if a white presidential candidate attended a church for 20 years who's pastor was a member of the Ku Klux Klan, how far do you think that argument would go in the mainstream media today? That white candidate would be called a racist because of his association with a church like that. So why does Obama get a free pass? Bigotry is bigotry and it should be denounced and condemned no matter who is guilty of it.

okay...the n-word it was created and disseminated for a certain class of people. Now when that class takes that word and per-se flip the script...it is worthy a burial. The n-word is upsetting to people of color...so am I assuming that the title of n-zi is upsetting to people of non-color...unless you put the word neo in front of n-zi then it becomes universally insulting. When you first heard the n-word what did you do and now when you first read the n-word what did you do and when you first said the n-word, what did you do? I thought so....you probably did the n-word of "nothing"

The N-word? Do you mean Nicole, as in Nicole Brown Simpson?

If one more person compares Obama's church to the KKK, I think I am going to throw up a little.
