From a release put out this afternoon: "As President Bush prepares his final State of the Union address, House Democratic Caucus Chairman Rahm Emanuel will hold a media availability to discuss the Bush legacy."
It's scheduled for 1 p.m. in the House Radio/TV Gallery.

Bush's legacy is something that no one thought possible. By comparison, he has made his father's
presidency look good. But, as they say - the fruit doesn't fall far from the tree.

Bush legacy? We have problems with immigration, the economy, energy and national security and some bozo in Congress is wasting our time on his opinion of the Bush legacy. History will determine President Bush's legacy, not Emanuel. We don't have a progressive Congress, we have a regressive Congress, an it's his fault Congress.

This is the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen. I agree with Larry Stone, history will determine Bush's legacy. Who does this Rahm guy think he is?

First of all, Wash. Times reported on the 8 days of President Bush and Sec. Condi in the Middle East. That is historic on the diplomatic scale, with a year to get the Roadmap to Peace signed and sealed. Hamas had a bloody coup, killing many Fatah elected officals. No wonder Israel locked the door and shut off the fuel. These thugs need to be clean up, and with the Arab leaders working with President Bush, I think his legacy will be in stabilizing the Middle East and putting these murderous thugs in prison or executed for slaughtering innocent people in their Gaza shoot-out.

Bush will be remembered for sticking to his beliefs, not some jackass looking at poll numbers.
An economy with a lower unemployment rate then any clinton year.
He's been fighting a war with liberal democrats for the right of America to defend itself. International agents have used the bias of media to attempt to erase the strenght of the Bush administration. God has been protecting America and President Bush from jugheaded liberals who can't do anything but bash people attempting to do good. He's winning on all fronts!
History will place him up there with Reagan.
God help us if Tax and spend democrats get the white house next year. The media will tell you everything is fine but the middle class will be broke!and wishing for another Bush in the whitehouse.haha.donkeys

The following prediction seems the most accurate one regarding the stuff of Legacy;
"I'll be dead and gone before they get it right."
-GWB
Meaning of course that it will be some 30 years before all the classified documentation is publicly released for consumption.
And it will be at least that long before folks stop wasting their breath on "could've, should've, would've".
I got to laugh when I hear folks say they are the candidate of change. Considering how much change this president has instigated and created in the world as a positive response to 9/11 by this nation, folks really must think pretty highly of themselves if they think they will do a better job of bringing change about.
How much change can we stand? Not the kind of changes al quaeda wishes to bring about, that's for sure.
Point being, it may be what HASN'T happened on his watch that historians will be forced to take into account when records are unsealed.

Cheney and Bush and Rumsfeld and the rest have spent like drunken sailors for 8 years. These neo-conservative type Reps behaved abominably. Are we to all support spending like drunken sailors? Is that sensible? Our "total public debt outstanding" on the US Treasury website "Debt to the Penny" this am is $9,195,477,639,808.95. When Bush entered office on January 20, 2001 that exact same debt (as of September 2001, which is the month the federal website uses annually)was $5,807,463,412,200.06.
Can someone please tell me what is so "conservative" about nearly doubling our debt during his term of office? And he is not done yet, so it may well be doubled by this time next year.
Neo-conservative looks more like authoritarian drunken sailor to a lot of us out here. Who needs it??

Why do you have space for comments but then do not post the comments you are sent? I sent in my comment over 24 hours ago and it is still not posted. Is that because my Conservative view does not jive with yours, or what? What is the point of having a "Post a comment" if they are not posted? Please explain, as I was not using foul language, or etc. and I see no reason not to hear a Fiscal Conservative Comment. I think a lot of conservatives agree with my comment.
Thank You.

Ken is obfuscating the Bush supporters with actual fact. How dare someone inject objective facts into an irrational thinking person's support of Bush and bashing and demonizing of democrats as "tax and spend" (rebmik). With the deficit Bush built up over his tenure without any attempts to cutback or balance elsewhere, it is inevitable that whomever occupies the white house after him, democrat or republican, will have no choice but to propose taxes to head off impending fiscal disaster.
