Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul today crossed the writer's strike picket line to appear on The View, where he discussed his views on abortion with Whoopie and the gang.
Joy was foaming at the mouth, as usual, and called it "shocking" that as a gynecologist, Mr. Paul would be pro-life. As if a man whose job it is to bring life into the world would support killing said life in advance. Get a clue, Joy.
Frankly, I was shocked just to learn that the Texas libertarian and U.S. representative was at one time a gynecologist.

Ron Paul is STILL a gynecologist! He still has a licence to practice in the state of Texas.

Ya, they seemed to focus that a lot. I guess the war and economy aren't as important to her, :[.
It was a good showing though, considering he's the only Republican who has been on it. He has balls, and he knows how to make an argument. Hopefully they learned something, that it IS legal to have an abortion during the 3rd trimester (1minute before birth actually) under Roe vs Wade and that IS wrong.

He was an obstetrician, not a gynecologist. There is a difference I believe.
But anyways I think Joy was getting herself confused at one point, first saying that she did want abortion to be legal, then saying that she thought people who made the decision were messed up in the head, then saying she thought they were alive at a certain point and then they weren't. It was ridiculous, I think she just wanted to talk for the attention.
I think they tried to pack to much into a few minutes, and spent to much time on an issue they didn't have a firm stance on themselves.
I also would have thought they would have talked about the thing with Iran not china.

As usual, Dr. Paul's stance is the most logically sound. This matter should be hotly debated at the governor's debates, not the presidential.

Get educated and actually learn about what Ron Paul Stands for http://www.ronpaullibrary.org/
Ron Paul Will win if we put him there. You cannot automagically say/judge who will win, that woman is ignorant for even saying such a thing.

Yeah, I found that entire chat to be pretty bizarre. From Behar's own confusion over her stance on abortion, the question about China and then Behar saying "you must know you're not going to win". It also seemed pretty clear that the "ladies" weren't interested in hearing Ron Paul's views at all, they were too busy chattering, trying to drown him out and then move quickly on to the next topic. Strange days indeed...
Ron Paul did very well given the circumstances.

Would have been nice if The View discussed other issues a bit more with him. Paul's stance on abortion is refreshingly simple, let the states decide.

Not only was he a gynecologist, but an extremely active one--he has delivered over 4,000 babies, and he gave medical care to people for free when they could not pay for it.
He also practiced for some time while working as a Congressman. He delivered many of his own current supporters in his Congressional district! Interesting, no?

Thanks for the post. I can definitely appreciate a candidate that will stand up for LIFE in a hostile environment like that.
I'll have to look further into Ron Paul. Its too bad Huckabee is for open borders and high taxes.

Heck, Audrey, the fact that he is a former OB/GYN is a very basic fact: right on the wrapper, so to speak. :)
Ron Paul operates from an extremely well-developed personal philosophy. If you follow his positions for a while, it becomes very easy to predict how he will respond to a particular situation. His speeches and writings are remarkably consistent since he entered politics over 30 years ago. However, one could never call his thinking rigid. He is quite pragmatic about solutions, particularly about how some transitions to our Constitutional foundation will take time, and will require the cooperation of Congress with the President.
I am glad that Dr. Paul caught your interest, and hope that you can do an article about his positions on national security.

Ha! His practice continued during his earlier stint in Congress whenever he was home on recess.

Shocked, Audrey? It's the first thing on ROn Paul's personal, campaign and Congressional websites, as well as featured prominently in most of his campaign material. You may also be shocked to learn he is STILL a practicing OB/GYN, and has deliverd over 4000 babies! He is also a 10-term Texas REPUBLICAN Representative- not libertarian (that's just his philosophy, not his party).
Apparently basic research is becoming a lost art for journalists.

Amercian People and media, Ron Paul is the real deal. He will bring our troops home, put our economy back on track, stop supporting all the illegals that are using our tax payers dollars to live on, and he will cut government spending and cut taxes, he will stop our privacy invasion and repeal the Patriot Act, what more could you want?

Shocked?! Really!? Not everybody was a lawyer before running for congress.

Ron Paul is an economist as well as a physician. This will be most helpful in the future as times will get tougher. The dollar's value will continue to shrink as long as we continue to borrow $3 BILLION each day to prop up our government and economy.
This man has the clarity to get more prople to understand our plight, thus avoiding a full depression.
Vote for him in the Republican primary. the only wasted vote is one spent on a candidate that continues the status quo. And while no candidate will perfectly suit your preferences, Ron Paul is the best match for the most significant issues of our time!

RON PAUL -- THE OBJECT OF FEAR AND LOATHING
Is he that Libertarian Republican presidential candidate who was first totally ignored, then cruelly ridiculed, and now viciously attacked by the Neo-Con Republican and Neo-Lib Democrat media elite, who regard him with extreme fear and loathing; is he that exceptionally sensible and uncompromisingly honest leader, who has again won the Republican YouTube debate by a landslide; that Ron Paul, who the World is cheering onto presidential victory?
