White House steamed over resolution vote

The White House continues to fume this morning over the House committee vote yesterday that condemned Turkey for committing genocide during World War I.

"While the House is debating the Ottoman Empire, they are not moving forward with appropiations bills," said White House spokesman Scott Stanzel. "There's a lot of important work for them to do and we urge them to move forward with that."

The reference to appropriations indicates the frustration inside the White House at their current position in a budget showdown with the Democratic-controlled Congress.

President Bush has said he will veto 11 of 12 spending bills, but some Republicans are worried that Democrats are withholding spending bills and will wait until the last minute to send him an all-encompassing omnibus bill.

That would not only be much harder to veto, it would also not allow the president to appear strong on restraining spending.

Please, Congress has shown itself to be dysfunctional, period. It is absolutely useless. Do the job the people elected you to do, or resign. With a little luck, we can replace most of the hallowed representatives and senators in 2008.

What the Dumbocrats don't want people to know is that this bill isn't about WWI. It's all about cutting the supply lines to our troops in Iraq by pissing off Turkey.

We are sorry!, So Sorry...

* We are sorry that so many Southern Democrats in the 60s voted against Civil Rights.
* We are sorry that there's a past KKK clan member in the Democrat Congress.
* We are sorry there's no public record of the fate of illegal campaign contributions for Hilllary.
* We are sorry that gas prices are so high because the Democrats in Congress have opposed drilling in ANWAR and elsewhere for over a decade.
* We are sorry the Democrats oppose making everyone's health care costs tax deductible. (BTW, even those with insurance would find this reasonable, since it would apply to copays, as well as those without insurance).
* We are sorry that the your electric bills are getting higher and higher because the Green Democrats oppose building more clean running nuclear power plants. Or Coal, or gas...

Finally, we are sorry that the GOP leadership is so inept that they can't figure out how to make a little fun of helping the Democrats make such fools of themselves. It's way past time for the GOP to score a few points at the Democrats expense, and have some fun while doing it...
