Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week is now under way, and left-wing organizations are on the attack. Michelle Malkin and Gateway Pundit have details. This is from World Can't Wait (WCW):
This right wing assault on college campuses across the country has nothing to do with "free speech" or the oppression of women in Islam.Click here to see an image of the WCW poster.
It has everything to do with silencing dissent and whipping up Islamo-phobic hysteria to justify U.S. domination of the Middle East.
WCW has been described as a "front group" for the Revolutionary Communist Party, which declared its opposition to Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week in a Sept. 9 communique:
It is an attempt to intimidate, confuse, and put on the defensive the many students and faculty who are opposed to what the Bush regime is doing here and internationally.Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week events for Monday include:
Islamic fundamentalism is not a progressive force for the world. . . .
But the U.S. is a much more powerful and more dangerous reactionary force. Overall, it is the far greater threat to humanity. It is in no way the "answer" to the genuinely oppressive nature of Islamic fundamentalism. (Emphasis added.)

UPDATE 5:10 p.m.:
(Via Malkin) Megan Sego is live-blogging protests at UC-Berkeley, featuring this photo of fliers distributed around campus:

Tonight's speaker at Berkeley is Nonie Darwish, author of "Now They Call Me Infidel: Why I Renounced Jihad for America, Israel, and the War on Terror."
Little Green Footballs has a roundup of protests, and a link to the clearinghouse for anti-IFA Week protests.

UPDATE 5:40 p.m.:
Phyllis Chesler (author of "The New Anti-Semitism"), has news about Nonie Darwish:
"The radical Muslims on American campuses are getting more belligerent, far more militant," author and lecturer Nonie Darwish tells me. "They have perfected their intimidation and disruption techniques." . . .-- RSMDarwish concludes: "Muslim girls like these are like gangsters. They know more about their rights in America than the Jewish girls do. The Muslim girls all have a chip on their shoulders."
And then she is silent. Softly, she says: "We are fighting an avalanche. We are too few. I am frightened by my culture of origin. I am scared of my own people."

We ignore the threat of Islamo-Fascism at our own risk. We will be struggling against this menace for years to come and we had better get used to the fact that this war may last longer than the Cold War did. If you click on the link below you will find a phenomenal lecture given by Christopher Hitchens, where he clearly states the dangers posed by Islamo-Fascism and why it poses such a dangerous threat to democracies around the world. The second video clip is by far one of the best presentations made on this topic and I urge you to watch it. I just wish the president was as forceful with his comments on this topic as Hitchens was.

Who is Nonie anyway? She is a psychologically sick woman who was raised in an extremist family that taught her hate. What is an uneducated, unqualified woman doing on a University campus? Her place is with the terrorist propagandists who defame all faiths, hate all religions, are warmongers obsessed with dominating the world. But how? By misguiding the masses and blockading the truth and distorting the reality of studnets who need a clean, pure educational environment that exposes deceit and hate. Let Nonie never speak again. She is a disgrace wherever she is. We support all Muslim students on every campus and will raise hell for whoever trespasses and crosses our territory.

Who dares spread hate about any religion? This woman is not American, either in her thinking or vicious propaganda attitude. Thank God we are all more educated now and will not fall into her trap. She is a staunch terrorist, scaring all free speakers and intimidating students to get her way through campus climates...she will not use us or brain wash us...we have found her out and will expose her wherever she goes....

Sweet Jim doesn't make the distinction between spreading hate about a religion and spreading the truth about it. If he were to explore what life is like for women and [others] in states ruled by Sharia law, he might -- might -- understand. But I don't expect him to.
I hate religions that hang or stone rape victims and adulterers. I despise religions that flog or torture homosexuals, or adherents to other religions. I don't know why Jim doesn't; maybe he's just not aware that it happens. Get aware, Jim.
Taqwa has just assured anybody who crosses "his territory" that they will suffer for it. What he means by this is that when you point to the dark side of Islam, as I described above, you're "crossing his territory."
Open your eyes, people.

To people like Taqwa Sabir and Sweet Jim, you two are what is very, very, wrong with this country. A vile, miserable, wretch like Taqwa Sabir shows how warped and delusional many Muslims are. Because one person has the nerve to tell people what it is really like to live under Sharia law, probably one of the most medieval beliefs ever devised by mankind (and note I said mankind, because only a man could come up with crap like that), you and sick people of your ilk believe that the only way to respond is by silencing and destroying those critics. NEWS FLASH TO TAQWA: I know this is totally lacking in the Muslim hellhole you probably crawled out from, but there is a little thing in the United States called the First Amendment, where your FREEDOM OF SPEECH is guaranteed under the US Constitution. To say that, "We support all Muslim students on every campus and will raise hell for whoever trespasses and crosses our territory," shows just how warped and bigoted (and dangerous) you people really are. If you are ever challenged by an idea, you must destroy it as well as the messenger, right? You people make me sick and if ever I needed proof that the wars we are fighting in both Iraq and Afghanistan are very, very, just, all I have to do is read posts from thugs like you.
As for people like Sweet Jim, you and your politically correct far-left liberal loon friends can tolerate anything except someone disagreeing with you. You really need to wake up and start listening to people who have actually experienced the hatred of Sharia law up close and personal. You haven't, so your views on the subject are irrelevant at best, bigotry at worst. If violence is being perpetrated under the guise of a religion, people should know about it and not tolerate it. I also love how you use the term "free speech." I guess you're all for free speech as long as it conforms with what you, and only you, believe in. Again, if you don't like what Nonie Darwish has to say, then don't go and listen to her. But neither you or anyone else has the right to silence her. Period. Free Speech, remember?

>>Let Nonie never speak again. She is a disgrace wherever she is. We support all Muslim students on every campus and will raise hell for whoever trespasses and crosses our territory.
It's rare to get a fascist to speak so eloquently. The writer supports suppression of free speech, obviously. He feels free to go anywhere and everywhere to silence her for her "disgrace." Of course, once the writer and his friends gain control and power, they have their "territory," which they will operate on a local level mirroring the autocratic dictators in nations throughout the Islamic world.
The interesting thing about people like this is that they clearly communicate their desires to the rest of us. All we have to do is listen.
