Audrey Hudson has been covering the path of the "John Doe" ammendment through Congress. In today's paper, she reported Democrats last night voted down a protection provision written by Republicans that would ensure tipsters aren't being sued for reporting suspicious activity.
The "Flying Imams" lawsuit against US Airways and Joe Public is a case in point.
Yesterday's action has lit a fuse in the conservative blogosphere.
Jammiewearingfool has his walk-off lines set. "The Democrat Party. Fighting tooth and nail to make you less safe."
Or in the characteristic brevity of Instapundit, "THIS SEEMS UNWISE."
Justin Higgins at Right on the Right made the subway poster to the right, playing on the final scenes from a video endorsed by HotAir.com, entitled "I Am John Doe."
HotAir, replying to a comment to its post, credited the bill's failure to the way politics really work in Washington (not the stuff you see on TV). "To the commentor who wanted the names of the Democrats who were responsible for this act, they scuttled this amendment in committee in a way that makes them difficult to track down individually. That's sneaky but it's how Washington often works."
Michelle Malkin went a step further, posting the Congress' switchboard number, along with the one for Nancy Pelosi's office, urging people to "Say something!"

Have House Democrats taken leave of their senses? Don't they realize the possible consequences of someone not reporting suspicious behavior because of a possible lawsuit? This would not be "racial profiling," Muslim extremists come in all colors. It would be religious profiling (since 100% of all terrorists attacks and would be attacks were carried out by Muslims). It appears Democrats would rather have American lives devistated rather than offend a few Muslims. They should remind themselves that they are sworn to represent the will of the people.

For you fence sitters, imagine a Democrat as president. Freedoms will fleet faster than stomach gas on a windy street corner.

I would suggest you view the video program on C-SPAN Book TV titled, Because They Hate: A Survivor of Islamic Terror Warns America featuring Brigitte Gabriel. I would also suggest you visit her website, American Congress for Truth. Radical Muslim terrorist have already infiltrated the U.S and is waiting to unleash their terror on America. When the body bombs start in Wal-Mart, then America will wake up. Congressional Democrats failed to include a provision in homeland security legislation that would protect the public from being sued for reporting suspicious behavior that may lead to a terrorist attack, according to House Republican leaders. THINK AMERICA!

Handing the Congress of the United States their hat with the immigration bill proved one thing. The Congress doesn't know who John Doe was and wasn't about to listen to those persons under any circumstances. It is definitely time for national term limit dialogue, but you're not going to get a member of Congress to bring it up. The current economic, political and security environment is too complex to have foresight horizons more than one term. That is how they plan it and that is how we as citizens should set the criteria for Congress. If they do well in their first term, they get elected for one more. After that, the embedded power paradigm will place the whole process in gridlock like it has for the past seven years. However, with new and evolved ideas every four years, (off year elections) they can at least address the current issues.
