Clinton assigns homework

Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-NY) is asking her supporters to help her make a video for the next Democratic presidential debate, sponsored by YouTube and CNN.

The forum will be entirely citizen driven, with the questions pulled from submissions via YouTube. Candidates get to put forth their own 30-second spots to be played during the debate, and Clinton is recruiting her fans to "take on the assignment and submit their own videos, explaining to America why Hillary is their choice for president."

"You know why you support Hillary. You know why this country is ready for change. You know why she's ready to lead," wrote Clinton media adviser Mandy Grunwald.

The initiative follows her "unscripted" HillCam last week, which posted "behind the scenes footage" of Clinton and her husband, the former president, on the campaign trail in Iowa.

(This Fishwrapper thinks the videos were actually the opposite of spontaneous.)
