Cleavage and Bush-Cheney lite?

The Clinton campaign sent out two eyebrow-raising fundraising e-mails today.

The first, titled "Cleavage," rips The Washington Post for its 746-word story last week about how Sen. Hillary Clinton's cleavage was "undeniable" due to her "low" neckline when she was on the Senate floor talking about education.

"I've seen some off-topic press coverage -- but talking about body parts? That is grossly inappropriate," said Clinton senior adviser Ann Lewis in an e-mail this morning. "Frankly, focusing on women's bodies instead of their ideas is insulting. By now, the media should know
better. But they don't."

Lewis later noted that the jacket Clinton (D-NY) wore during Monday's debate was up for discussion and settled the argument about its color: coral. "Debates should be serious business. We are,
after all, picking the next commander in chief," she said.

The note included this: "Clothes? Make up? Cleavage? What's really important in this race?" Sound familiar?

The campaign sent a second note this afternoon taking a stab at Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) for his remarks about Clinton's foreign policy strategy.

"Last week, one of the leading Republican candidates equated Hillary with Karl Marx. Yesterday, one of the leading Democratic candidates called her 'Bush-Cheney lite,'" said Clinton campaign manager Patti Solis Doyle "Can you imagine?? Hillary like George Bush??!! Or Dick Cheney!! You and I both know that Hillary has stood up time and time again to the failed Bush/Cheney policies."

Trouble is, Obama didn't actually "call" Clinton "Bush-Cheney lite."

Check for yourself. The Clinton campaign has provided video of the back-and-forth from yesterday on their pro-Hillary "news" site.

Settle in, folks. It's going to be a long, brutal campaign.

Good observation that Obama didn't actually refer to Clinton when making the "Bush-Cheney lite" comment. She and her staff deliberately attacked him personally whereas he was only making a statement about the merits of his idea as opposed to the merits of someone else's idea. And CNN does so in a suspiciously prompt commentary within hours of his having uttered this statement on the campaign stump. Bias in the broadcast media? Naw. Never.

Most of the crap democrats talk about is just about this caliber. Hillary doesn't have any cleavage. Her fat, last time I saw her, went about 2 1/2 few feet south of there...

Now The Breck GIrl not liking her Coral jacket is just becasue he didnlt get to wear it...tee hee

so what?

Well if miss clinton gets back in the white house does this mean the rates on the lincoln bedroom just went up? If so how much? tell me thats not a disgrace to the moral fiber of the american people. its a joke that only certain politican can lie cheat steal. but dont question thier patriotism

With all the 'gates" attributed to her time as First Lady, a trend toward Nixon would be more analogous. She left Karl Marx for Saul Alinksy in the 60's. Obama needs to read up.

Well I can Hardly Wait Till The "real" Folks appear and Get these clowns off the Stage

So as not to be sexist, suppose a male spoke on the Senate floor with a shirt on that had a plunging neckline instead of a tie. It would look out of place, as did Hillary's blouse. It would call attention to itself rather than the message. Hillary would do well to avoid the plunging neckline while speaking in the Senate.

There is nothing wrong with Hillary's cleavage, I don't mind looking at a chipmunk with cleavage.
It won't sway my vote for her anyway, I don't care if she strips, I might watch but I sure aint voting for her.

This chatter is not political debate, America. Our two party machine is again probing the public psyche to find the triggers that divert public awareness most effectively away from the issues in yet another election. Try to think. Opinions and personna do not add up to ideas and character. Read the background to the sound bytes. Don't repond to them. You recognise the difference, don't succumb. Vote.

The jacket she is wearing is hardly "cleavage". Seems perfectly tasteful and conservative to me.

All you pundits may as well stop trying to give comments to try to sway peoples minds. Hillary supporters will not change their minds. Might as well face it, she will be the next US President.
