Cindy Sheehan: Not welcome at DailyKos?

Has the "Peace Mom" been banned from the No. 1 liberal blog site? She says so:

I can't post here anymore because my potential run for Congress is not on the Democratic ticket. ...

If Speaker Pelosi does her constitutionally mandated duty and I don't run, then I can come back and post.

Mrs. Sheehan's planning a third-party run against the California Democrat. But apparently DailyKos is more about electing Democrats than about opposing the war in Iraq.

At HotAir, AllahPundit asks:

What happened to the dream of people-powered politics driving complacent establishment Democrats from office?
-- Robert Stacy McCain, assistant national editor, The Washington Times

UPDATE 3:55 p.m.:

Mrs. Sheehan is banned, but Sen Hillary Rodham Clinton is welcome at Daily Kos -- or, to be more precise, YearlyKos, the second annual "netroots" convention, which will be held this year in Chicago.

Cindy Sheehan is an anathema to any cause she picks up. Nobody in their right mind would associate themselves with this woman. DailyKos has the right idea of pushing her away, she is bad press.

I find the Daily Kos banning of Cindy Sheehan to be proof that they have turned away from improving the situation in Washington to the status quo. Of all of the Democrat candidates, the one who is the most Republican of all is Hillary Clinton.

I guess the left is finally abandoning Mother Sheehan...BIG surprise.

I couldn't care one way or the other, as no elected official coming out of San Francisco will be good for our nation, but I find it interesting that the left has finally proved their critics correct that they were simply using this disturbed woman for their own ends. Now that she is off her leash, it's time to slap her down.

I hope that DKO's stance hurts DKOs more than it hurts Cindy.

Err, no -- if Cindy Sheehan had been banned from the site, she couldn't have posted that diary on the site. Duh.

She wasn't banned.
She was warned that she couldn't use DK as a platform to launch an Independent campaign.

I don't always agree with 100% of her actions, but at least she is not afraid to do something in order to attempt to right a very great wrong. She acts as a catalyst ... We all need to do more and she is our morning cup of coffee, our wake up call.

Why is Cindy Sheehan running against Nancy Pelosi? Pelosi is the most liberal person in the house and the closest to her views. Sheehan needs to search for a Republican that is on the outs with their constituants and go for the seat. Democrats continually show zero solidarity. They will meet defeat again unless they can pull together as one team with one voice.

Cindy Sheehan is woman trying to build a political reputation on the death of her son. If she were truly anti war, she would have been carrying the placard during Desert Story and Kosovo. See is of that era. It doesn't seem logical for her cause to carry much credibility toward a seat in the House of Representatives. It will be interesting to see how Nancy Pelosi deals with the situation.

Yawn. Cindy who??

So much for the free expression of ideas.

What's worse? A hildabeast so damaged that a truly far left nutcase bags the demo nomination? (Making a moderate Republican more competitive in the big show.) Or a hildabeast with lefty and DNC storm troopers rallying to her cause?

With the religious fruitcakes threatening to take their ball and go home should the GOP nominate someone who lives in the real world, seems like a wounded Hillary offers some medium-term downside for the country: an inexperienced minority rabble rouser in a position to make decisions with long term consequences. The only saving grace would be too little Washington insider chops to accomplish much of anything.

Not that we actually have a choice, but what is better for the country, betting it all on the final candidates being opposite extremes (probably ensuring a Bloomberg run and a lame duck presidency whoever wins) or having both candidates be relative moderates? Preferring two moderates suffers from the sin of risk-aversion - but both extremes have amply demonstrated how ill suited they are to actual governance.

Hillary Clinton is not a Republican by any means. She isn't conservative on one issue! Cindy Sheehan is terrible press and I agree with Jeff that DailyKos did the right thing.

This can't surprise anyone. We all know how the Left despises dissent, that's why they attempt to surpress free speech via the so-called Fairness Doctrine.

I enjoy reading DK. One of their stated goals is to get democrats elected. I also think Cindy's tactic is genuinely theatening to the centrist(read spineless) party leadership, and thus serves a great purpose. This isnt a case of liberals eating their own, its a win-win situation (unless you've lied the country into a war with no end in sight).

Blessed Mother Sheehan's dissent is crushed by the Left. Surprise, surprise!

I enjoy reading DailyKOS too. It is one of those 'guilty pleasures', watching self loathing losers eating their own.

Pathetic,

As I understand it, Her son served and died as a Marine in a forward fighting unit in Iraq. I also believe that ORIGINALLY, Mrs. Sheehan was in fact, a Republican supporter although not a supporter of the war, and when it was clear that President Bush was either not inclined or simply incapable of acknowledging this family's grief and suffering was it that she turned towards the Left, embracing anyone who would talk to her.

So we expect and this president demands the ultimate sacrifice from our soldiers and fighting men and women but don't ask us to bother even acknowledging that sacrifice going forward. F*cking pathetic.

So I feel horrible for Americans, and particularly those of a political bend that are so bereft of compassion and humanity that they just see Mrs. Sheehan as some deranged nut-job and political ping-pong rather than a Gold Star mother who's sacrifice in a different age would have thus commanded your attention and respect for a war you so slavishly support.

I think our President was an idiot from square one, and I disagree wholeheartedly with Mrs. Sheehan's politics, however, I find her family's sacrifice compels me , at least to give her the time of day and let her have her say.

The Daily Kos will welcome anti-war people who will bash Republicans but wants no part of anti-war people who question Democrats. The far left has finally proven that their true motivation is to embarass Republicans rather than ending the war. Makes you wonder if everything was the same except Clinton was president would the KOS be defending the war?

I am seriously thinking about moving to Sacramento to help vote Nancy Pelosi out of office.

Tough talk, no action.

Spineless, no guts Democratic rhetoric.

What happened to the slogan (Mr. President, there's a new congress in town) or something to that effect. Bah, humbug!

And let us not forget the Bush Crime Cartel

I think Republicans should support this loon for election. It would highlight the crazy in crazy that Liberals are all about.

To Mark T. - President Bush personally meets with the families of fallen soldiers. It is not publicised at his request and is not a photo op. He met with Mrs. Sheehan and if you check all MSM outlets, he defended her right to publically vent, camp out in a field, and be made a disposable tool of the DNC. If you knew anyone that has lost a son or daughter in this war on terror, you would know what I say is true. The reality that you will not be bothered with details like truth and facts is, in your words, "F***ing pathetic".
