Ron Paul today is echoing Mike Huckabee's vow to stay in the race, saying Republican voters deserve to have a choice other than Sen. John McCain.
"As the results of this weekend have made clear, many Republican voters are not satisfied with our party's likely candidate for president, John McCain," he said in a statement, pointing to McCain's losses in the Louisiana and Kansas contests to Huckabee as evidence.
Paul has not won a single state yet, but he said as long as his supporters keep backing him — and they have been generous with their financial contributions so far — he would stay in the race.
Paul also has a Web video up evaluating his campaign's successes and defending his less visible national presence right now.
He called for his supporters to continue to support him, including in his run for reelection to his congressional seat in Texas, as part of a national movement.
"We're running a race to save the country," he says in the video.
As for his presidential campaign chances, he said anything can happen: "We don't know what will happen. There may be a lot of information on the other two candidates that will come out."

As long as the media keep on reporting "beauty contests" and "estimating" the delegate count, the maverick Dr. Paul will seem to be the underdog.
The fact is that Dr. Paul will end up with a lot more than the 14-16 delegates the old media is reporting. Case in point Washington - Dr. Paul obtained over 50% of the precint delegates in the state (these delegates go on to the county convention where they elect delegates to the state convention.)
This is why Dr. Paul is staying in the race. Mr. McCane and Reverend Huckabee will keep each other from obtaining the 1191 delegates needed to secure the nomination. Mr. Huckabee expecting Dr. Paul to become king maker and prefer him over McCain. The more likely scenario is that after the first vote, Dr. Paul's delegates will give him a shot at the nomination.

Ron Paul is now calling for a Grand Rallly March in Washington DC. This is going to be a huge event.

McCain will be destroyed by the democrats on the war issue alone. And don't forget us republicans with long memories for things like 'the Keating five', McCain Feingold, McCain Kennedy, and the fact that he admitted himself that he does not understand the economy. There is a reason that McCain was rejected early on.
And don't forget all of those delegates for Romney who rejected McCain and Huckabee on their conservative credentials. Many of them may now go to Ron Paul who is the TRUE conservative in the race. Lots of them probably didn't think Ron would still be in the running, but he is and he is now an option.
Ron Paul is right, anything can happen here.

It ain't over till it's over baby, the delgates can change their minds at any time, and given the choice of 100 more years of war with Mcpain, or the ex preacher Huckaflea, it's quite obvious, wake up America, Ron paul is the only clear choice.

We already won.
We have exceeded our expectations. Much to their dismay, we have exceeded the media's expectations. We have consistently beat the polls at the voting booths.
From this point on, everything that we gain is just icing on the cake. We continue to bring in donations. We continue to educate and pick up supporters.
If Ron were to withdraw from the contest today, we would not suddenly go away. We will continue to gather our forces. 20% today will turn into 40% by the time the next elections come around. Once you become a Ron Paul Republican, you know that it's the only right thing to do. Doing the right thing feels good.

So there just may be. First, how can McCain be president being born in Panama. Second, Maybe americans need to know why he was nicknamed Songbird while a POW in Vietnam and why he received preferential treatment there. Also Huckabee should be exposed as what he is. A war mongering tax increasing social liberal, maybe not as bad as McCain on that issue, but close. The Dems are going to eat either of these clowns alive and they know it, Sad how we have reached the end of the Republican Party, who are noe socialists and the dems are simply communists at this point. What a joke this nation has become, Thank the dumbed down Americans everywhere. More people vote for American Idol than for president; Sad.

We may be in stealth mode, so beware! Ron Paul and his supporters are still going strong, and the lack of media coverage will not stop our message of Freedom, and Liberty, small government, low taxes, securing our borders, and bringing our troops home from overseas, not just Iraq. I sure hope the American people will finally understand that if foreign policy changes are not made with the next administration our country will collapse economically, with or without the help of any Al Queda threat. Our country is in a Recession, and our foreign policy of warmongering is nailing our country's coffin shut with a Depression. The other nations in the world are laughing at our government and the people, and we continue to do the same things over and over.

Only Ron Paul can beat the dems.

Ron Paul has remained true to his Constitutional oath, he has guarded his integrity to the point of being known as a waste of the lobbyists' time, he has consistently defended individual rights, both economic and political, he has in other words proven HIS "conservatism" beyond a shadow of doubt, never waffled, never flip-flopped, and he has a record of "proof" spanning 3 decades, open to anyone's research.

Thank Dinan. All I think Dr. Paul supporters want is honest reporting one him, good or bad. At least realize he has something to offer politically in this day and age.

Why shouldn't the states who have not had primaries yet be allowed to vote for all the candidates? It is the primary process that is broken, not the candidates.

Ron Paul may not win the election, but that is only because he hasn't had the time to build the name recognition of say, John McCain or Hillary Clinton. In fact, he's fairly new to this game of big time politics. 'Til just last year he had been a rather obscure congressman from Texas, whose voting record has been impeccable, who is well respected in the house for his forthright honest (John McCain even said so), but who never attempted to make much of a splash on national TV, until now... Had he the name recognition of Hillary Clinton he would surely sweep the pres. elections like Reagan did in '84. There is no doubt about it. And that's exactly what McCain, Clinton and Fox News are really worried about, hence their continual efforts to marginalize his TV time. People just don't know who is, in so many cases, and by the time they find out, old John McCagey, or Huckleberry or Fox News has cast him in a bad light, making people who would normally be open to the constitutional approach, weary of Ron Paul's ideas and motives.
It's subtle, underhanded and quite vicious, the way Ron Paul's opponents have tried to discredit him and his ideas. But, Ron Paul is most assuredly telling the truth -- it's staring us right in face. He has been consistent on his views, direct and honest about what government can and should do. He is a straight shooter and I pray folks will figure this out before it's too late. It not easy to always see who's telling the truth, men are good at deceiving each other, and that's the rule of politics as any sagacious person knows. But Ron Paul is an exception to that rule. An odd exception. Ron Paul actually is telling us the truth about all these issues in the debates and discussions. He is the only one that is dealing us a straight hand. The rest of these characters running for President, are well-to-do snoots, who will only further their own interests and the interests of their wealthy friends, if elected. Until we regular folks, we working people realize this we'll have the devil to deal with in Washington.
Ron Paul in 2008. Ron Paul or his protege in 2012.

I think this is a fair article. However, Something is seriously wrong in the Mass Media. It is, in some countries, the medias role to give both sides of the story and facilitate real debate on issues before elections. This is not working in America. Media are very close to the wikipedia definition of fascist propogandists. Just look up the definition of fascism. Does it remind you of any " free " country at the moment ?
