« Breaking: Fred Thompson drops out | Main | Hunter for Huckabee »

Where do all the Fred-heads go?

So far, Mitt Romney is winning overwhelming support, according to a poll at FreeRepublic.com, which had been a place where Fred Thompson's supporters congregated.

Notice that John McCain, the man who most pundits expect would get Thompson's endorsement, is getting about 3 percent of Thompson's voters. That's only slightly higher than the "anyone but Mac" vote.

And are the folks who answered "none of the above" in the poll all Ron Paul supporters, or do they have another name in mind?

I liked two people in this race, Fred Thompson and Ron Paul. Fred and Ron seemed to be the only true conservatives. With Fred officially out I'll be 100% behind Ron Paul.

We can only hope that the none of the above are Ron Paul supporters. 50+% for Romney seems a might high to me. Flip flopping Romney will only be marginally better than Clinton!

I didn't vote over at FreeRepublic. Of the FredHeads that I know, there is a LOT of dissatisfaction over any of the other four major candidates. Most that I know of lean toward Mitt, though they do not trust him. I have seen a few supporting most of the others except for Huck.

The "none of the above" is still a common theme. Some are considering not voting, though that was a different option. A lot are planning on still voting for Fred. I guess some might vote for Paul, but it would be very few.

In short, we don't know where to go.

I hope and pray that Romney can pick up Thomsons
supporters .He can send HELLARY back to the woods
with BILLY BOY

I was a definite FredHead. I believe his downfall and the fact that Duncan Hunter never caught any traction is due to the fact the MSM crowned their "Top 3" quickly and left the others in the dark. The impact of the MSM is dangerous to conservatism, and conservatives need to address this issue. We need to have a Main Stream Method of gathering our information (i.e. internet) and completely abandon the MSM. The MSM does not want a conservative and will only extremely reluctantly cover a conservative (with a lot less air-time). So this reasoning isn't as far-fetch as it sounds.

I'm not 100% sure what I'm going to do now. I've told all my friends I'm only committed to voting in the primary, I'm not committed to voting in the General Election. If Rush throws his support behind someone, I may consider that person, b/c I respect Rush and his influence would give whomever a real boost.

There is no real home for true conservatives out there. I'm not surprised the supporters of Thompson are going for Romney over McCain, because he seems to be the lesser of two evils. But for true conservatives there is no real excitement out there for any of the Republican candidates. But I guess we'll still vote for whoever the Republicans nominate because it has to be better than having Hillary Clinton in the White House.

The Fredheads, Hunterites and others are in talks right now about forming a conservative third party unless the GOP wises up QUICKLY! Better to lose to Hillary/Obama than have McCain/Huckabee ruining the country as republicans.
