A few news and notes from Maryland football coach Ralph Friedgen's press conference today. ...
* Morgan Green has taken a lead at tailback over Da'Rel Scott, who is battling a slightly pulled hamstring.
* Walk-on Olugbemi Otulaja is the starter at nose tackle, ahead of Travis Ivey. Otulaja, who Friedgen refers to as "Bemi" rather than stumbling over the pronunciation, will be a senior this season.
* Alex Wujciak banged up his knee a bit over the weekend, but Friedgen thinks he'll be fine. As a precaution, he's being held from today's practice.
* Offensive linemen Scott Burley, Maurice Hampton and Lamar Young are all expected to practice today, and a determination of their availability for Saturday's spring game will be made off of that. "I'm not going to put a guy like Burley at risk if I think there's a chance [of injury]," Friedgen said.
* Friedgen said on the ACC teleconference that depth at safety is a concern. One move that could make sense is shifting 5-foot-11, 190-pound Dominique Herald back to safety from strong side linebacker.
"For being undersized, he’s tough customer," Friedgen said. "He's a guy who make play. The good news if that if we move him, we would probably put him at a similar position. ... We have not been displeased with what we've seen with Dominique Herald this spring. It was an experiment to see if he could play inside and he passed that test very well."
