No word on a Navy goalie

Sometime later today, Navy lacrosse coach Richie Meade will decide whether Matt Coughlin or Tommy Phelan will start in Friday's Patriot League semifinal against Colgate.

Until he does, he's staying mum.

That's fine, and it would be no surprise if he sticks with Phelan. True, the Midshipmen yielded a dozen goals against Johns Hopkins on Saturday. But half of them came in some kind of helter-skelter fashion --- off faceoffs, in transition, on extra-man, off goalmouth scrums.

Either way, Navy gets a team it handled in impressive fashion earlier in the season. If this game unfolds in similar fashion to the 8-3 victory from back on March 23, it might not matter who is in goal for the Mids.
