Boom, Vasquez get political

Seems Bambale Osby and Greivis Vasquez are making their voices heard on campus.

Oddly enough, they're doing it via political endorsement.

This morning's Diamondback points out both Maryland basketball players have appeared in ads supporting candidates in upcoming SGA elections.

Vasquez couldn't be reached for comment, but Osby offered up his typical zany analysis of the situation to the Diamondback:

"A lot of people don't take this seriously enough. People looking at the ad on the website will probably get more people involved. And hopefully, it will get people more involved in the real election. I don't know the statistics, but people from 18 to 24 don't vote for nothing."

The shame of it all is that Osby is on schedle to be out of College Park at the end of the month. If he was sticking around, he could have just kept his endorsement for himself and won in a landslide among the sliver of the student population that remotely cares about the SGA elections.

EDIT: Here are links to the Osby and Vasquez. Vasquez makes his appearance early enough to bail after the first 1:25 of the five-minute clip.
