Strong outing for Hill [Mark Zuckerman]

Shawn Hill's pitching line from tonight's game with Class A Potomac: 5 ip, 4 h, 0 r, 1 bb, 4 k, 67 pitches, 45 strikes. Hill's fastball was clocked at 90-91 mph.

Looks like Hill did quite well, and his sinker was on (he had nine groundball outs and only two flyouts). We'll have to wait and see what Nats officials say about it, but if they were looking for results, they certainly got them. Is Hill ready to join the Washington rotation this weekend? And if so, who gets bumped from the rotation: Matt Chico or John Lannan?

Meanwhile, Wily Mo Pena played three innings in left field at extended spring training today. He went 0-for-1 with a walk and a strikeout. No balls were hit to him in the field.
