The Nationals have issued the following statement regarding today's release of the Mitchell Report...
"We have just received the Mitchell Report and have not yet had an opportunity to fully review it. It is clear though that, like all Major League clubs, the report includes names of players that have had or currently have an association with the Nats. We will let all comments on this matter come from the Commissioner's office, and we will have no further comment at this time."

Hopefully, the Nationals (and Major League Baseball) will do the right thing and get rid of anyone involved in the steroid scandal. Otherwise, the Nationals will lose a very loyal fan. Zero tolerance is the only answer. I can't get excited about cheating to win.

Wow! That's a really bold statement.

Yep, just about as bold as making anonymous comments on blogs.

It is truly sad that baseball has taken this long to finally admit it has a huge problem. It is time for new leadership in the Commissioner's Chair and the Player's Union should accept its share of responsibility for the debacle.
Only outside testing by an independent agent is going to help restore the average fan's faith in baseball.
