Senator Barack Obama sends supporters an e-mail before he takes the stage in Des Moines:
The polls are closed in Kentucky and votes are being counted in Oregon, and it's clear that tonight we have reached a major milestone on this journey.
We have won an absolute majority of all the delegates chosen by the people in this Democratic primary process.
From the beginning, this journey wasn't about me or the other candidates. It was about a simple choice — will we continue down the same road with the same leadership that has failed us for so long, or will we take a different path?
Too many of us have been disappointed by politics and politicians more times than you can count. We've seen promises broken and good ideas drowned in a sea of influence, point-scoring, and petty bickering that has consumed Washington.
Yet, in spite of all the doubt and disappointment — or perhaps because of it — people have stood for change.
Unfortunately, our opponents in the other party continue to embrace yesterday's policies and they will continue to employ yesterday's tactics — they will try to change the subject, and they will play on fears and divisions to distract us from what matters to you and your future.
But those tactics will not work in this election.
They won't work because you won't let them.
Not this time. Not this year.
We still have work to do to in the remaining states, where we will compete for every delegate available.
But tonight, I want to thank you for everything you have done to take us this far — farther than anyone predicted, expected, or even believed possible.
And I want to remind you that you will make all the difference in the epic challenge ahead.
Thank you,
Barack Obama

I don't know much about politics, but, i do know and believe obama is way wrong for this country. A man who does not salut the flag, a man who also swears by the koran, and a man who wants to negotiate with terrorists. All of these qualities alone should put up a red flag with many voters, but it doesn't. Why? probably because the group voting for him would rather see a black president than a decent one.
I think it's about time this country has a black or a woman president, but not because of their skin color. And it seems to me that's why he's being voted for.
This country was not founded by people who negotiate with terrorists. If we did, we probably wouldn't be the country we are today. And this country still needs cleaning up.
Hillary's no better, but you do not see her disrespecting the united states of America by not saluting the flag..
sorry no, Obama should not be president of this country. He's wrong for the job. I beleive he will run this country into the ground. For what? So he can speak with some terrorists? He thinks people who were raised to hate Americans can be reasoned with? Even if he does it will not make a difference. why? we would be funding them to terrorize some other country, and we would be responsible for it.
I would rather see Bush for 8 more years than have Obama destroy this country with his petty thoughts of negotiation and disrespect to this country.

In the fall of 1990, I negotiated the withdrawal of Saddam's troops from Kuwait and ended this conflict. Bush had the truth of this war shut up, so our nation could attack Saddam and possibly invade Iraq. In 2003 Bush Junior invaded Iraq on false charges and trumped up facts (falsehoods) to the United Nations.
I sent out over 800 press releases and the story was never published. I am, in my personal opinion, the foremost expert on the Iraq War crisis AND I do know that Barack Obama, if elected would be a threat to our nation and a very poor foreign affairs President. Please do not vote for him!
