RALEIGH, N.C. — Sen. Barack Obama is going up on the airwaves with his closing argument, two-minute spots that are part campaign stump, part biography.
The narrator reminds voters Obama was a community organizer because, the senator says, "Politics didn't lead me to working people. Working people led me to politics."
"We've got a choice. We can go about doing the same old things with the same old folks and somehow hope we're going to get a different result. Or we can go ahead and try something entirely different. You and I together, we'll change this country and change the world," Obama says.
Here's the North Carolina version:

It is worth noting that the primary in NC and IN and ultimately the election hinge on a bet by two of the candidates that low information voters will believe their preposterous assertions that a "gas tax holiday" will help them pay their fuel bills this summer.
Anyone with a high school level education in economics will tell you a gas tax holiday will actually have the effect of raising gasoline prices. The consumer will simply never see a dime and the oil companies will make even higher profits. Not to mention the fact that it might put as many as 300.000 people out of work when the country is reeling from job losses or drive our debt even higher.
It is simply impossible to even suggest that such a measure could be introduced much less pass through congress before the end of the summer given nobody but McCain and Clinton support it in congress.
We are witnessing an epic and historic clash of old and new politics, one rooted in pander and deception of the past and one with the promise of truth and transparency.
My vote is for Senator Obama

I believe and hope that many In and NC voters will see through Clinton's proposes tax holiday, which hurts more than helps and is very short-shorted. Its primary purpose is no to help voters but her. Clinton really knows better, but is pandering for votes at any cost.

Hope vs fear....fear of the unknown.
I dunno. Fear usually triumphs, it's a survival reaction, whereas hope is a thinking reaction.
I'll vote for Obama. If his biggest flaw is that he is actually friends with folks different than him, I can live with that.

Brilliant, this is like Iowa all over again.
From UK sending some love to Obama and the American family. Peace!

Gas tax holiday will save a whopping $38 for the entire summer season. Lets give people that money, and risk having more bridges like the one in MN collapse, and let people die and get hurt.
Then we can send the lawyers after the government and extract $400,000,000 for the dead and injured alone (government get to fix the bridge outside of this). Now that is not just a plan, Hillary. That is a plan and a half.
How about some more Free Trade Agreements? Shall we get one signed with China and India? After all, we have one with Canada and Mexico, and Hillary's advisor worked behind the door to get one passed for Columbia. So, lets have more free trade agreements. Then we can all go beg to other countries for food.

The gas tax roll back is even beyond DOA in congress and the candidates know it. It is a non issue and it really annoys me that it continues to be talked about. As with the Wright thing, I wish the media would cover the story then move on. The gas tax is only alive because the media didn't add the little fact that the it has no support from the congressional leaders. Let it die. Next.

This is why Obama should be leading this country. I'm so sick of "I'm a hard worker and a fighter" as a tag line. All the candidates are that. We want a new and honest approach.

The gas tax "might" save you money at the pumps but that's IF the big oil companies would pass on that tax break. Don't we all know how that movie ends?
Lays off workers, takes billions away from infrastructure repairs and it boils down to yet another lie from Clinton and McCain. You save absolutely nothing and the price of gas won't change. It would be another windfall for the oil companies and absolutely nothing for you or I.
Yes, I mention Clinton and McCain together because they're both running the same kind of untruthful and pandering campaigns.
It's time for a change.

I am sick to death of either a Clinton or a Bush for the last 20 years. I want to try something fresh for a change.
