New Clinton poster, with her framed by rays of light, looks like Obama poster

HRC-2-1.jpeg

Sen. Hillary Clinton is selling this new poster on her Web site tonight.

The image, designed by Hollywood screenwriter (of "Eraser" fame) Tony Puryear, was printed by union labor in the United States, "using 100% wind power and vegetable-based inks."

Puryear writes:

"Senator Clinton is a beautiful, strong and inspiring woman, and I wanted to make a poster that reflected that. Rather than putting a slogan on the poster, I chose to put her name, because she is surely the only leader at this level with whom we are all on a first-name basis, and to me, that reflects her personal warmth and connection with ordinary Americans."

The poster, which appeared today on her site, resembles this one of Sen. Barack Obama done by Chicago-based Creative Rescue.

A colleague glances at both posters and reminds me the rising sun image smacks of communist propaganda seen in posters like these:

I think you're right; I seem to remember something similar to the Hillary poster being done with Che Guevara. But I think it says something about Hillary that she has elected to put a poster like this on her website, and I'm not refering to the left-wing aspect but the narcissistic aspect.

Your colleague's simile is totally applicable. Before scrolling down to the bottom posters, the propaganda vision emerged but also images of Orwell's 1984.

don't forget the war years with Japan and that socialist totalitarian group also similiar to the dems

When I first saw this, I was sure it was a parody site.
Gotta love the combative and exclusive "original artist print"...

It's not that it's a bad design. I'm all for political art and activism, regardless of who it endorses. To me, it just feels like everything else from Hillary's campaign. Coordinated by "brand experts" and put together by "focus groups..." Even the artist quote feels staged.
