Too many Obama ads?

Some voters were complaining in Texas that Sen. Barack Obama was saturating the airwaves with commercials. Even supporters grumbled they couldn't click through the channels each night without seeing a flood of his ads.

Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton has repeatedly said her rival is outspending her, and she's using his ad spending in Pennsylvania to raise money on her Web site.

She may have public opinion on her side, as a new American Research Group poll gives Clinton a whopping 20-point lead over Obama in Pennsylvania in part because of his many ads.

Notable in the poll summary is this tidbit:

23% of likely primary voters say that excessive exposure to Obama's advertising is causing them to support Clinton. This compares to 19% of likely primary voters in Ohio who said that excessive exposure to Obama's advertising in that state caused them to support Clinton. Too much advertising can harm a campaign.

It looks like Obama's wealthy left-wing supporters are trying to buy Pennsylvania and it's not working.

Obama wants Pennsylvanian to get his message. The excuse most voters were giving there was that they didn't know him. So he had a daunting task of trying to reach those voters that chose not to vote for him simply because they didn't know him nor his policies. This shows that his message is out there, and voters can't give the "we didn't know him,' excuse. Those that will vote for Obama will have been convinced by his message. By the way, Obama is the underdog in this state so I think he has done a great job to cheap away the double digit lead by Hilary Clinton. Voters need to stop complaining and just vote for Obama.

It is very annoying hearing the ad all the time. Once twice... fine, I get the message. It was so saturated in Texas that I had to turn off the radio.

Its because she wasted most of her money..

she can't run a campaign...how could she ever run a country..?

The vast majority of obamas support have come from everyday people..at average of $100 donation

thats where his support comes from.

Wow... Wealthy left-wing supporters... Do you mean the million plus contributors to Obamas campaign who have given under 200 dollars. I gave 25 and I will probably give more but times are tight and I don't know if I can. I must be one of those wealthy supporters trying to buy Pennsylvania that you mentioned. If your going to try and spin something keep it somewhat relevant.

Obama's pied piper shtick has lost its appeal. Even the children and weak minded are starting to see through it.

Texas not only gets their own programming but they are so huge that affiliated stations bleed back into Texas from surrounding areas and states. This is just another Media spin. Who cares? It is called an election. Would you rather see comercials about tampons durring dinner as we usually do, or an Obama add? I will vote for the Obama add as I will during the election!

I think he wanted people to get to know him better and that was the reason for all the adds.
Well maybe they did get to know him better and maybe they are not happy with what that.

Because of the millions spent in Obama adds Hillary has all the right in the world to question Obama. When Obama spewed his condescending remarks to all those millionaires in San Francisco he directly accused the Clinton administration for "small town folks" clinging to religion and guns. If he accuses the Clinton years as the reason for their bitterness then why shouldnt Hillary strike back? WHY? She kept quiet when the Wright controversy erupted. She made only one comment. "Wright would not be my pastor." That was it. But this "bitter/clinging" issue is pure politics, its about policy, honesty. Its goes straight to the reason why democrats have lost the last two elections. It is fair to argue Obamas condescension to the small town folk because it goes directly to issues like religion, xenophobia, gun ownership and culture.

It so DIFFICULT to please people... Weeks ago they were complaining that the CANDIDATES neglected them and ignored them, especially, Obama, whom they hardly know, now they are complaining of too many ADS....WOW!!!!!Or is it the NEWS MEDIA controlling the election...They bring up all these IRRELEVANT piece of remarks to make money...It is so sad that the ELECTIONS have become so COMMERCIALIZED...I do not support any of these candidates, but I think they should control the ADS.

This is a totally ridiculous article. What a total waste of time.

Speaking as one of those allegedly "bitter" Pennsylvanians, I have to say that Obama's two-faced nature sickens me. He has one message for his little buddies in San Francisco, and a totally different message that he thinks Pennsylvanians are stupid enough to believe. He's shown himself to be just another rich guy looking down on people who actually have to WORK for a living!

This man truly will say or do anything to get elected.

And who is he to "mock" Hillary Clinton for having a shot and a beer? Wasn't he the idiot who was slurping up beer while failing at bowling last week? What, that's not "pandering"? The slobbering media even went out of their way to report on what brand of beer he was drinking!

I wish he would just go away. He is a turnoff, his two faces are a turnoff, his ads are a turnoff, and his supporters are so nasty that they make me want to puke. Sure, insulting my preferred candidate and calling her names REALLY makes me want to vote for your guy...NOT!

Nobama. Never.

This sounds like Clinton's sunset. It is insane to think people change their convictions because of ads.

Go Hillary Go

Ugh... I am so sick of the guy already.

It is becoming more and more apparent the disdain Obama and his wife have for their country and their fellow Americans...whom he wants to lead.

How many more "misspoken" words must be heard before people get the message... They don't think much of us.

Hillary 08
Keep drinking the Obama kool aid Obamadrones.

That is to show you that senator Obama is using the money from supporters like me for his campaign,

while Senator Clinton Is using the money from her supporters to to pay her daughter and husband for her speeches and probably half million per speach.

She must use the money in the campaign and be loyal to her supporters, and avoid the temptation to keep the money within her familiy.

by now she is aware of the poor chances of winning this election, why to badder to spend
money on television adds, she is not stupid.

Instead she uses the issue to victimized herself, How clever!

Obama has money to burn, and has been reported for overspending Clinton hand over foot. What interests me is that despite his outspending her in Ohio, RI, TX and other states, she still did quite well. Maybe Obama has it wrong. The American voter needs more than quick 30-second message to really understand a candidate.

W tried to saturate PA too and he lost both times. Hearing a message I don't agree with 100 times won't make me decide to support it. Hearing a messasge I agree with once is enough. Best luck to both contenders; they'll need it.

Its like my grandma used to always say "too much sugar will give you cavities and diabetes". Talking about hope the first couple of times may sound nice but after a while it gets annoying.

Wow. I thought it was going to take the GOP to expose the hidden liberal, elitist, socialist, racist side of Barack Obama and his REAL agenda, but he did it FOR us. Actually, the VERY liberal Huffington Post did it for us. lol Today is a GREAT day. Obama is finished. Hillary is finished.

It is funny listening to Obama supporters defend everything that their candidate does. Did Cocaine? No biggie. Is a member of a radical black church? No problem. Dissed middle class Americans in Pennsylvania while at a fundraiser full of wealthy Californians? Whoop'de'doo...

This Obama character had a, moment of clarity, when he had the audacity to put down the third, fourth generation and more European Americans.
The man is unqualified.God bless him.
Dan

No, it is not true that most of Obama's money comes from small contributors. SOME of his money comes from small contributors, but actually his campaign is making major use of the practice of "bundling" which George Bush raised to a fine art under the supervision of the darth vader of american politics Karl Rove. AND Obama's fundraising really took off...after New Hampshire, when Ted Kennedy threw his fundraising support behind Obama. Obama outspent Clinton something like TWO to ONE in places like Texas and Ohio and he still lost. He is outspending her something like FIVE TO ONE in places like Indiana and Pennsylvania and STILL not winning those states. And, polls show that he would lose the states of Michigan and Florida in the general election against McCain. Nobody is going to the White House without winning those two states. A vote for Obama...is a vote for a McCain presidency, pure and simple.

All the talk about the Hillary $$ machine? Sen Obama is raising money from all kinds of sources, including bundling from oil-Real Estate-fortune 500 big wigs. Being in Iowa we got the brunt of the ads. And I agree that Sen Obama was on the air all the time. And when he looses Pennslyvania on the 22nd, will he still be able to crank out the big bucks? After Penn, things get tough. Hillary is way ahead in West Virginia and Kentucky, has a lead in Indiana, and is running very close in North Carolina and Oregon. Add to that a very possible Edwards endorsement and Sen Clinton is the front runner. Plus she has won all the big-key states and is more prepared to take on the GOP-Karl Rove-Swift boat mud slinging machine. Hillary can win the whitehouse!!!!

hey bj
Obama is supported by wealthy liberals like George Soros. Obama is in it for the power. If he leads the country like a typical "black leader" than he will continue to tell people their misery is not their own fault and to blame whites. he will destroy any sense of Racial harmony in order to obtain votes and maintain power. Its funny, he doesn't have a problem telling white rural folks about their shortcomings but won't face the real problem that "african" americans have and that is their failed culture. If a black person decides to go to college, not have children without fathers in the house, and denounce gansta rap they are considered too "white" by there peers. t is an american culture (that works) not a "white culture!

The only thing Barack Hussein knows how to run is his big fat flapping mouth.
I love the fact that every time he or Hillary open their mouths, it's kind of like vomiting into the wind - it comes right back into their lying faces!

Well this just goes to show how unbelievable polls can be. Just two days ago I read that Obam had gotten the spread in Pennsylvania down to 6 points, now this writer claims its over 20 points. THese pollsters must be using very different techniques to get such wildly divergent results.

I live in Texas and I got at least 20 phone calls from Hillary people before the primary. They even called after I asked them not to call any more. I got one call from the Obama people. I also asked them to call again and they did not. I just don't understand why people cannot see through this women. What is it with you guys????

With post primary election surevys showing that so far Hillary polls the highest among the least educated and the poor so I am not too surprised that plenty of idiots are still falling for "bitter" sound bites or the fact that Hillary or Mccain two huge fat cats have the nerve to call Obama a former community activist from a poor area on the South side of Chicago an elitist.

This election really is about choice because people can either get educated and get on the Obama bandwagon or remain dumb and poor because they are just falling for stupid political rhetoric if they believe anything coming out of Hilary's or McCain's mouth.

I live in Texas too and we had 4 calls (recordings) from Senator Obama and one from Michelle Obama. Our TV ads were the same one for Senator Obama over and over and over and over on all channels. It was too much!! Senator Clinton called once and we actually laughed about finally seeing HER ads. My kids started yelling, "Senator Clinton's ad's on!!!" And, they only watch on weekends! It was overkill for Senator Obama!

I gave Obama $50.

I'm tired of being called a millionaire elitist, my dad was military, we lived in a trailer park near Fort Bragg, NC - almost 50 years ago.

Obama is an unknown senator that came from behind to beat the candidate with 35 years experience, international name recognition and the insider track with Washington politicians.

He's ever so much more respectful of voters and his fellow legislators. He's obviously smart, an excellent speaker and motivator - and he's run a tight ship for his campaign.

For this and so many other reasons I am impressed and will vote for Obama. I have been so disappointed at how willing people were to go to war without thinking thru the long term consequences. Tired of hearing that our industries can't take on the expense of developing more environmentally friendly alternatives, better mileage vehicles and solutions for the problems we face. I'm tired of a WHITE HOUSE that believes a deregulated market is the rising tide that will lift all ships. We witness corporations stripping employees of their pensions, their vacation, their medical benefits in the name of being 'competitive'.

I don't want to wait for Europe or Asia to solve the problems, I believe we have the talent and the drive in this country if we can loosen the stranglehold of the current politicians.

the obama supporters in here are hilarious. "get on the obama bandwagon!" the wheels are comin' off that baby. people are finally starting to listen to his "words that matter," and they don't like what they're hearing.

Obama was not condescending. He was describing the fact that people are so disenchanted with their governement that the only thing they have is their guns and religion. He was not saying that guns or religion are "bad", but rather that people should also be able to believe in their government and feel like their voices are being heard.

Fear about the future of our land prompted me to share this concern regarding Obama. I have been analyzing him from the very start of this Presidential Campaign. He was not able to convince me to believe everything He has said. There is no doubt, He is a good speaker. He learn the style on how to deliver an effective speeches(sermon)from his mentor, Pastor Wright. I had notice, most people, who have heard him, was taken away by the intensity of his rethoric. If only those people will be more observant, they too, will see through the real message. It is very obvious, Power is the number one Target to accomplish the Goal. There is a Biblical prediction. Someone is coming on the scene, A very Eloquent, Charming, Intelligent but very Deceiving person. He will poise to solve all our problems, People will Hail him like people hail Hitler. He will consider himself the most powerful leader of the World, and the ultimate Goal is to Dominate. We the people will lose the freedom and our Rights as Human Beings. I hope and Pray, God will spare us all of this tragedy in the future. If this is to much to comprehend, please make a research for yourself, A good reference is the Holy Bible, It does not lie and does gives Enlightenment. People of America-Be very-Vigilant. MY FELLOW BITTER, STUPID, WORKING CLASS PEOPLE.

YOU MIGHT BE AN IDIOT, TOO :-(

If you think like Barack Obama, that WORKING CLASS PEOPLE are just a bunch of BITTER!, STUPID, PEASANTS, Cash COWS!, and CANNON FODDER. :-(

You Might Be An Idiot, Too!

If you think Barack Obama with little or no experience would be better than Hillary Clinton with 35 years experience.

You Might Be An Idiot, Too!

If you think that Obama with no experience can fix an economy on the verge of collapse better than Hillary Clinton. Whose husband (Bill Clinton) led the greatest economic expansion, and prosperity in American history.

You Might Be An Idiot, Too!

If you think that Obama with no experience fighting for universal health care can get it for you better than Hillary Clinton. Who anticipated this current health care crisis back in 1993, and fought a pitched battle against overwhelming odds to get universal health care for all the American people.

You Might Be An Idiot, Too!

If you think that Obama with no experience can manage, and get us out of two wars better than Hillary Clinton. Whose husband (Bill Clinton) went to war only when he was convinced that he absolutely had to. Then completed the mission in record time against a nuclear power. AND DID NOT LOSE THE LIFE OF A SINGLE AMERICAN SOLDIER. NOT ONE!

You Might Be An Idiot, Too!

If you think that Obama with no experience saving the environment is better than Hillary Clinton. Whose husband (Bill Clinton) left office with the greatest amount of environmental cleanup, and protections in American history.

You Might Be An Idiot, Too!

If you think that Obama with little or no education experience is better than Hillary Clinton. Whose husband (Bill Clinton) made higher education affordable for every American. And created higher job demand and starting salarys than they had ever been before or since.

You Might Be An Idiot, Too!

If you think that Obama with no experience will be better than Hillary Clinton who spent 8 years at the right hand of President Bill Clinton. Who is already on record as one of the greatest Presidents in American history.

You Might Be An Idiot, Too!

If you think that you can change the way Washington works with pretty speeches from Obama, rather than with the experience, and political expertise of two master politicians ON YOUR SIDE like Hillary and Bill Clinton..

You Might Be An Idiot, Too!

If you think all those Republicans voting for Obama in the Democratic primaries, and caucuses are doing so because they think he is a stronger Democratic candidate than Hillary Clinton. :-)

Best regards

jacksmith...

p.s.

If you don't know that the huge amounts of money funding the Obama campaign to try and defeat Hillary Clinton is coming in from the insurance, and medical industry, that has been ripping you off, and killing you and your children. And denying you, and your loved ones the life saving medical care you needed. All just so they can make more huge immoral profits for them-selves off of your suffering...

You Might Be An Idiot, Too!

You see, back in 1993 Hillary Clinton had the audacity, and nerve to try and get quality, affordable universal health care for everyone to prevent the suffering and needless deaths of hundreds of thousands of you each year. :-)

Approx. 100,000 of you die each year from medical accidents from a rush to profit by the insurance, and medical industry. Another 120,000 of you die each year from treatable illness that people in other developed countries dont die from. And I could go on, and on...

DON'T BE DUPED !!!

Large numbers of Republicans have been voting for Barack Obama in the DEMOCRATIC primaries, and caucuses from early on. Because they feel he would be a weaker opponent against John McCain. With Hillary Clinton you are almost 100% certain to get quality, affordable universal health care very soon.

But first, all of you have to make certain that Hillary Clinton takes the democratic nomination and then the Whitehouse. NOW! is the time. THIS! is the moment you have all been working, and waiting for. You can do this America. Carpe diem (harvest the day).

I think Hillary Clinton sees a beautiful world of plenty for all. Shes a woman, and a mother. And its time America. Do this for your-selves, and your childrens future. You will have to work together on this and be aggressive, relentless, and creative. Americans face an even worse catastrophe ahead than the one you are living through now.

You see, the medical and insurance industry mostly support the republicans with the money they ripped off from you. And they dont want you to have quality, affordable universal health care. They want to be able to continue to rip you off, and kill you and your children by continuing to deny you life saving medical care that you have already paid for. So they can continue to make more immoral profits for them-selves.

Hillary Clinton has actually won by much larger margins than the vote totals showed. And lost by much smaller vote margins than the vote totals showed. Her delegate count is actually much higher than it shows. And higher than Obamas. She also leads in the electoral college numbers that you must win to become President in the November national election. HILLARY CLINTON IS ALREADY THE TRUE DEMOCRATIC NOMINEE!

As much as 30% of Obama's primary, and caucus votes are Republicans trying to choose the weakest democratic candidate for McCain to run against. These Republicans have been gaming the caucuses where it is easier to vote cheat. This is why Obama has not been able to win the BIG! states primaries. Even with Republican vote cheating help.

Hillary Clinton has been OUT MANNED! OUT GUNNED! and OUT SPENT! 4 and 5 to 1. Yet Obama has only been able to manage a very tenuous, and questionable tie with Hillary Clinton.

If Obama is the democratic nominee for the national election in November he will be slaughtered. Because the Republican vote cheating help will suddenly evaporate. All of this vote fraud and republican manipulation has made Obama falsely look like a much stronger candidate than he really is. YOUNG PEOPLE. DONT BE DUPED! Think about it. You have the most to lose.

The democratic party needs to fix this outrage. Everyone needs to throw all your support to Hillary Clinton NOW! So you can end this outrage against YOU the voter, and against democracy.
The democratic party, and the super-delegates have a decision to make. Are the democrats, and the democratic party going to choose the DEMOCRATIC party nominee to fight for the American people. Or are the republicans going to choose the DEMOCRATIC party nominee through vote fraud, and gaming the DEMOCRATIC party primaries, and caucuses.

Fortunately the Clintons have been able to hold on against this fraudulent outrage with those repeated dramatic comebacks of Hillary Clintons. Only the Clintons are that resourceful, and strong. Hillary Clinton is your NOMINEE. They are the best I have ever seen.

This is not a game (Hillary Clinton)

Sincerely

jacksmith...

This is not a game (Hillary Clinton)DONT BE DUPED!Hillary Clintons. Only the Clintons Carpe diem Shes, and your childrens future. And its time America 4 and 5 to 1.
Yet Obama has only been able to manage a very tenuous, and questionable tie with Hillary Clinton.

Please be aware jacksmith is using lies and deception to promite the weaker candidate, Hillary Clinton. All news articles point to one thing: Republicans *ARE* switching over to vote for the weaker democrat: Hillary Clinton. Please go to Google and type in "Republicans switching for clinton".

Regards,
Paul

I don't think the polls are always accurate. I believe Senator Clinton will win in PA., that said Barack Obama should concentrate on the issues the economy, war, housing crisis and unemployment. Hillary's diviness and attitude of entitlement cleary indicates that she is NOT and will not be the next POTUS. She continues to slam Obama and the DEMOCRATIC party at every opportunity. She has managed to take sleaze to an all time LOW....... If she should become the Democratic nominee, the Republicans can start celebrating ........

I think that it's democracy which is the true victor here. Obama has been waging a Glitzkrieg from the beginning. We don't know how much money is spent per vote but I really believe that if there was a ceiling to how much money a candidate could spend, Obama would have been eliminated from the race a while ago.
