Sen. Hillary Clinton was all set to steal the show last night, beaming as she helped Stephen Colbert with technical difficulties on his set.
Colbert had something else in mind and instead of an interview, both Sen. Barack Obama and former Sen. John Edwards showed up for cameos. It turns out Clinton didn't get the grilling some had expected.
She strolled on stage and ordered Colbert's JumboTron screen fixed, then made sure his forehead was powdered since it had gotten shiny.
"You're so prepared for every situation," Colbert marvels.
Clinton said he could call her any time, even 3 a.m., then left the stage, her two minutes of fame over.
Here's video:
But proving she is not the most likely match for Colbert's audience, Clinton was quickly upstaged by the surprise performance from Edwards, who did his own version of the show's featured segment "The Word."
He was cheered through nearly all of his six minutes, almost triple the time Clinton was on stage.
But the crowd went crazy when Colbert closed the showing wishing Obama would have accepted his invitation (his wife did the show Tuesday night).
Here's Obama, putting "manufactured political distractions" officially "on notice," one of Colbert's favorite things to do. He was keying off an earlier segment where Colbert ripped on ABC News for its debate performance.

Obama couldn't show because he was still crying in his room. Couldn't take the "tough" questions. If he thinks that is bad wait untill the republicans start in on him. He is going to get destroyed.
Hillary has been through the meat grinder and survived many, many times. We know who she is and what to expect of her. She would be a good president. Obama would ruin us.
If Hillary loses the nomination I am abandoning the democrats and voting McCain.

Clinton looks silly yet again.

I have to commend Obama for taking the high road in the debate when he could have ended the race and won the nomination in about 30 seconds. All he had to do was bring up hillary's comment about the southern working class from Benjamin Barber's book, "The Truth of Power: Intellectual Affairs in the Clinton White House":
"Screw 'em," she told her husband. "You don't owe them a thing, Bill. They're doing nothing for you; you don't have to do anything for them."
She would dispute it, but because of the high negativity ratings she has earned, it sounds like something she would say.
Bringing it up in prime time in front of millions of voters would have set off a firestorm and sealed the deal for Obama. It is certainly something hillary would have done in a heartbeat.
Obama talks about the politics of hope, and it gives me hope to see a candidate placing principles and integrity above an obsession to win at any cost.

Colbert is hilariously funny.

Biased article against Clinton. Another media source trying to get Obama elected again.

HEY COLBERT, BETTER WATCH YOUR BACK. HILARY'S PROBABLY PISSED THAT YOU HAD JOHN EDWARDS & OBAMAS WIFE ON THE SHOW WITH HER. YOU KNOW SHE WAS PISSED WHEN SHE LEFT 2 MINUTES AFTER ARRIVING.
BOY, WHAT A "JUDAS" YOU ARE.

Hillary is not doing herself a favor by joining those who chose to deliberately misunderstand comments on economic frustration, of course she is out of touch with the economic position of most americans, since she has gotten rich off old fashioned politics.
Chris Mathews was comparing his squeaky voice to Dan Abrams squeaky voice and mathews was bloviating about the word bitter which Obama used in a clearly understandable context. He dragged in "elitist" condescending, and patronizing, and then finished by saying the most condescending and elitist comment of all
"""The voters in pennsylvania made up thier minds on who they were going to vote for in 1957""" Will Obama please find a way to retire all those bloviators when he wins, I hope he never gives them any interviews and dosen't let his people give them any, Since we can't vote these fools off television, he should at least take some good potshots at them every week for the next 8 years or until they are replace by more responsible and real people. Chris Matthews always interupts better people before they can finsh the first sentence. the guy is rude and squeaky.

Is McCain running on mandated NAPS?

"Biased article against Clinton. Another media source trying to get Obama elected again."
Oh, for the love of Pete. It's a synopsis of a satire show on Comedy Central. Try ratcheting back the simpering histrionics a few notches.

The Media is assuredly not "trying to get Obama elected again." Supporters of losing or failed candidates always cry foul when the votes are counted and the battle is lost. I see that this time, it will be The Media's fault... Perhaps even the "liberal media?"
Come on Rush Jr. If Clinton supporters lack the intellectual flexibility to support Obama after she is out, then I support their defecting to McCain. There will be no place for them in the new intelligent and responsive Democratic party.

JP, that was a very insightful comment. I didn't even think about it. I too am glad Obama chose his principles above an obsession to win, even though as you say, it would have greatly benefited his chance at the nomination. In the long run, I think it was definitely best for him. If he had chosen the Clinton-style low road, he would have been a hypocrite. I hope he can hold on and continue to rise above as the silly distractions continue.

I was really happy to vote for Obama on Super Tuesday and am eager to vote for him again in the general elections in November!

electability?
there has not been a single poll, ever, that gave klinton a better chance of beating mccain, than obama.
klinton is the ralph nader of 2008.

I thought the debates were more for entertainment value than information. I thought H.Clinton did a lot of double talk and I thought Obama held his cool very well.
H. Clinton is just not liked very much. She has a lot of negative energy around her. I don't feel the American people need a dark cloud over their head.

obama is a dud.
i cant support him any longer
he probably got his degrees square and fair, but
he is obviously not presidential material.
he's probably suited for another kind of job
but an education is not the qualifier for President of the United States.
and this William Ayers thing has me so annoyed that he wants to think he didnt know about ayers feelings in 2001. who cares about when he was 8.
the fact is that he knew this guys unrepentive ways and he remains friends with him.
sorry pal - - i need more than a grin and a speech to make my day.

obama's personal baggage sucks up any interview, any speech any debate.
abc were not the first to have to go through his laundry list before getting to the issues.
but this is exactly whay obama is not right for these times. He is constantly mouthing off in a bad wayand the next time you see him, you have to get the garbage out of the way because the voters want to know.
obama's paid bloggers? flooded the media with "wrong towards obama," but i think the majority of us saw for ourselves that he is not the real deal. be glad you saw it early enough.
he folded, and when he did get a serious quesiton he needed help in understanding it, like capital gains? proving experience DOES MATTER FOR A JOB LIKE BEING PRESIDENT.

Oh, come on! Is there any HONEST person who hasn't heard with their own ears the in-your-face bias of the CABLE NEWS CHANNELS (except Fox, which is ALWAYS bias and spin), toward Obama? It's been going on for months. These shills for Obama are really disgusting they way they pile on HRC.
Has anybody asked themselves why the media is so afraid of being critical of anything he does? It's not a hard question to answer. Just think about it for a millisecond.

too bad edwards matters less now than nader. maybe al gore will give him a job polishing the oscar.
but in the game of winners and losers, strength of schedule matters. mccain's rusty machine gets rustier every day. obama's gets sharper. if godzillary dropped out now, his machine wouldn't get the practice turning out the vote that it's getting in states like pennsylvania and indiana.
i'm sure godzillary will keep herself warm for the next four years knowing that she helped in her own, small way. then she can pull a ted kennedy in 2012. if he thinks she's kneecapping him now, wait til he sends his first piece of legislation up the hill.
