Kerry's birthday boost

Sen. John Kerry got a nice birthday ego boost on a conference call with reporters today.

Kerry (D-Mass.), just back from the Bali climate change meetings, asked the 20 or so scribes to do a roll call before he opened his remarks.

As the reporters sounded off, it turned out that a few bloggers were on the call. When the woman from JohnKerryIsMyHero.com announced herself, Kerry laughed.

"I didn't know there was such a thing," he said, right before the blogger wished him a happy birthday.

I was on the call to ask Kerry about rumors here in Iowa that he'll be endorsing Sen. Barack Obama before the caucuses. He brushed them aside, saying "I have made no decision whatsoever as to who I might endorse ... or if I will."
