Election countdown

Lots of famous-for-Washington types were out tonight at the the launch party for Mark Halperin's "The Page."

Time provided handy gift bags that included a copy of the magazine, Halperin's new book on the 2008 race and a countdown clock ticking off the seconds until next year's election.

Let's see .... 367 days, 23 hours, 23 minutes and 56, 55, 54 seconds as I write this. You get the idea.

Some attendees giggled when they realized the clock was set to the wrong time due to the new daylight saving schedule, but an eagle-eyed friend of B Blog pointed out Time included a note explaining the clocks will be at the right time Sunday — sort of.

The helpful note reads, "These clocks have been pre-set for Eastern Standard Time beginning this Sunday, November 4 at 2 a.m. when clocks are moved forward one hour."

Oops! Isn't it Spring forward, Fall back? No big deal, but I am curious what will happen Sunday at 2 a.m. Will we get one magical extra hour of the election cycle? Since it's the note, not the clock, that includes the wrong info, I am guessing it will all sync up at 2:01 a.m.

Spotted in the crowd at the party, held at Poste Bar in Northwest D.C., were Wolf Blitzer, a grinning Terry McAuliffe and a man wearing wings (seriously.)
