Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-Ohio) offered an explanation for why he chooses a vegan diet today during the LiveStrong presidential candidates forum on cancer.
He explained he has dropped 25 pounds since taking on a no-meat diet. He said his food choices give him tons of energy to use on the campaign trail, and, apparently, in his personal life.
"I'm 60, my wife's 29. You draw your own conclusions," he said, adding as the MSNBC camera panned to wife Elizabeth: "Diet helps."
Moderator Lance Armstrong complained, "This has really deteriorated," but then joined in the fun: "I would just be hungry all the time, I think."

Why are you focusing on the most trivial aspects of Congressman Kucinich's appearance in the Livestrong forum? Do you think your readers are more interested in this fluff than reading about the details of the single-payer not-for-profit health care system that is a central component of his platform? Your skewed coverage of the primaries makes a mockery of journalistic ethics and does a disservice to your readers. Your efforts to portray candidates who offer meaningful and serious change as insubstantial comedic sidekicks while promoting establishment front runners as serious is pathetically transparent. Everyone knows this accept, apparently, the Washington Post.

What a surprise. More liberals who don't have a sense of humor and insist on taking a light hearted post and turning it into a platform for to once again shove their opinions down everyone's throat. Jesus, you people are tiresome.

Eric in Seattle, This is Thatcher in Shoreline. The article was written because Kucinich is trivial in the presidential campaign.
Seattle people live in a bubble and think what they think is correct and accepted by all really smart people throughout the country. In reality, Seattlites are goofs and have few things in common with the rest of the country unless it is San Francisco or Berzerkley.
You just have to understand that this guy is a goof but i would encourage you to vote for him anyway, cuz you don't want the corporation to get ya.

Dennis is not for the rich but he probably is envious of the Rockefeller exit nevertheless

"candidates who offer meaningful and serious change as comedic sidkicks" surely you jest. kucinich's is a space cadet and is fact a walking comedy himself that needs no sidekick. and it is except, not accept.

Lets have the government run Health Care, thats smart. It will be a combo of the DMV, Fema, TSA, IRS and the post office. When have you ever been impressed with the job the government does or it's Customer service skills

Lets not forget the Brilliant job Dennis did running Cleveland. ( he put the city into Default).

Right on, Eric. It sickens me how much ridicule Dennis endures from the media and how they portray him as irrelevant. Dennis is more relevant than all three 'top tier' candidates combined. He is the only one who answers questions directly and with sincerity (Gravel as well) and who has real plans and an intention to fight for the well-being of all Americans. Shame on the Washington Times.

Eric in Seattle,
Thanks for your comments, which I found hilarious. I think it is important for leftists to keep speaking out clearly and honestly about their positions and ideas, so that Americans can understand exactly what you're about.
Then they vote Republican, even while pretend conservatives like Larry Craig play footsie in airport bathrooms.

Gary,
The truth about Kucinich's administration in Cleveland is that the city went into default after he stood up to corporate interests that wanted to privatize the public power utility. And you know what? Keeping it public has saved the citizens of Cleveland millions of dollars since then. Why do you think they've elected him to Congress?
